No details other than appearing at the press conference. Since it was on a Go instead of a 3000, it'll probably be a PSN game.

Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios, Japan Studio/Pyramid, Patapon™3 sees the return of the innovative, rhythm-based 2D action game exclusively for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. Patapon 3 -- a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Patapon and Patapon 2 titles -- introduces a new warrior, a Superhero Patapon, that players can use to head into musical battle, devastating opponents with deadly, rhythmic attacks. Players will go on multiplayer Quest with friends or go head-to-head on an epic four-against-four battle against other Patapon clans with network play (up to eight players). Patapon is a fully customizable experience, with different weapons and abilities that combine music and dance to create the only multiplayer portable adventure full of rhythm and war.

STORYLINE
The brave Patapon tribe cross the recently constructed bridge at the end of Patapon 2. A mysterious box lies in their path and they combine their efforts to break it open. They successfully break open the box to release… the seven evil spirits! All the Patapons are turned to stone except for Hatapon. He has escaped the tragedy and finds a silver Hoshipon at the bottom of the box which gives him a new power to defeat the evil spirits: Superhero Patapon.

Added details from the fact sheet to the OP. It'll have online co-op/multiplayer as its big new feature along with a new superhero patapon unit.

Yep, there's a Patapon 3 demo, albeit it's all in Japanese. For anyone interested:

1. Download the demo: [direct link]
2. Un-zip it and you'll find a folder named NPJG90088 inside the ~/PSP/GAME/ directory.
3. Copy that folder to your PSP's ~/PSP/GAME/ directory.

The demo's 110MB and I assume it requires the latest PSP firmware (6.20).

Did patapon 2 ever came out on UMD?

EDIT: Found the answer. Yes, P2 is on UMD - that's why I've seen it used at GS...

Yes, there were a number of copies on UMD made available. Don't know how easy to find they'd be right now. Gamestop and Toys R Us were the only places I ever saw them at.

Can anyone remind me how Patapon 2 ended? I know I beat it, but I can't remember the ending.

Bumping this up for its release today.

They posted a code on the Patapon 3 post on the PS Blog that offers a free Bald Cap helm for Patapon 3: JCAF-CENE-ECN4

Thanks for the FYI

I've tried two codes on the PSN store, but neither has worked. Is it because there isn't a /en_US/ site option?
