Path of Neo - you've GOT to see the ending of the game.

Ok so all this talk made me want to know what happened at the end. I googled it and WTF?, I will definetly not be buying this game. Possible rental but seriously, they set out with Path of Neo to fix all the mistakes of Enter the Matrix, then they go and screw it up storywise, BIGTIME!

I mean, for everyone's complaints about EtM's gameplay and bugginess, you have to give it credit for having a somewhat interesting story for matrix fans and made you feel like it was an actual part of the Matrix storyline.

I wanna see what the ending is...but I dont know if I should just wait until I buy it and see it or just go look on the net.

No, you really don't. Without telling you much, your probably gonna be pissed if you go through all the work of playing through the game (and spending the money on it) to see the ending they put in there...

See... I was thinking it might be worth picking upat some point, whether that be $20 or $30 but now, a rental is the most money they're gonna get outta me.

I wanted it to be serious (and good) since I'm a huge Matrix fan...but at least it sounds kind of interesting. I can see paying $20 for it sometime in the future...but not much more than that.

It's at the begining post people just direct them there from now on.

Anyway that was lame. Really lame. From the screenshots of the game and info the game seemed like it might be fun. But with that ending. Lame. Really lame. Can't describe it any other way.

Ya, I would have to agree with that assessment/setiment, "don't like it? well your stupid doody heads and fuck off" Not exactly a good idea to burn bridges between you and your potential audience.
 
I don't see how they are making fun of the audience, but that was lame. I was only going to rent it anyways and ill still be doing the same.

I still haven't seen the 3rd movie, but I assume the ending is better than that.

...they said that out of respect for the audience, the whole Jesus/martyrdom thing is played out and a bit too drama-heavy for just a video game. The Wachowskis are avid gamers too, so they'd be making fun of themselves.

I persoanlly liked that ending -- it works for a video game.

That ending was pretty funny, not what I except from the matrix tho. Still if I get to fight that giant smith robot I might actually have to pick up my pre-order.
 
Ya know, presuming that Jack Thompson thing is real and taking another look at the ending...i think the Shiney from the Earthworm Kim days is still alive. Maybe they'll do something non-licensed again...
 
Ok, let me clarify. The final boss battle, isn't really what I have a problem with. In fact, like many have said, it works, because afterall it is a video game that needs a final boss battle. They took the semi-cheap route about it but what's the difference. A final boss battle doesn't need to be massive in order to be epic, Metal Gear Solid 3 easily proves that. They took the cheap way out but video games have done worse.

My problem is that they make a big deal about how there's a "new ending to the Matrix trilogy" When in reality, all they changed was, making Smith bigger, sunset, and "We are the champions". Which, btw, why is that a FMV cutscene and the others are rendered? Anyway, I think it all culminates in the fact that, aside from the Jesus complex, the ending wasn't really that bad to begin with. I mean it ended with the hero's death, which isn't always that bad, and the end of the war, which was basically the point of the entire trilogy anyway.

Now, as far as killing Thompson, that's just cool and it definetly brings the game back up a few notches.
 
You get to kill Jack Thompson!!! OMG!! I have to ethier pick this up for rental or buy it. I got some store credit so prob just buy it. :D

I can't believe they did that. I mean, the second and third movies were definitely not great, but they totally outdid themselves with that ending. I think it's sort of funny how they made fun of the plotline and it's lack of coherency, but what the crap is up with the Godzilla/Mecha Smith?

The bros. Wachowski have destroyed the credibility they had to their own series. I hug my copy of "The Matrix," remembering the days when this classic movie reigned supreme. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
 
I love the matrix movies the first one makes you wonder and in the second one they turn everything upside down and thats why i loved them the final movie i like it. Now in the game its kind of funny the ending and I guess since This is my favorite movie I can't complain. I will definitely buy the game this week end.
