I don't really see any potential problems, the only thing that I'm curious about is if ebay's customer service will be better than paypal's.
 Good God no! I don't even want to go over some of the ridiculous conversations i've had with ebay customer service. Hell the last guy couldn't even get through his head I was the seller and not the buyer during a call even though I repeated it constantly.
As an honest seller, it's horrible, and totally buyer-biased. Long story short, I sold something; accurate description, pictures. Guy gets item and says this isn't what you said it was (it clearly was). I was very nice, offered him a refund straight away, but I also reminded him to read and look at the auction listing before he bought something next time. Well, he didn't take too kindly to that, refused the refund and opened a case. Within 30 minutes he had his money back, never shipped items back, nothing I could really do. Ebay responded to every reply this guy had instantly, and everytime I said something I got the standard "48-72 hours for a response" response. It was basically a nightmare. It ended OK though, because I contacted my lawyer, who then contacted eBay. eBay themselves ended up giving the guy a refund, I kept payment. So, from a buyers standpoint, you could get anything you want and get refunded for it.
Alright I don't understand some parts of this, how did he get his money back without shipping anything even an empty box back to you? Did he say item never showed or something or was this years ago under a different paypal policy? Did you offer a full or partial refund to to him, just isn't clear why he would turn down a full refund to in turn get another full refund.
