PC Arcania: Gothic 4 $34.90, PC Warhammer: Dawn of War II $9.90 @ gogamer

OMG, crazy awesome price on Dawn of War II. Anyone who has a decent PC NEEDS to play it: its a mix of Company of Heroes (gameplay) and Diablo (loot).

Also, it uses Steamworks, so you get your Steam Achievements and all the other Steam features.

Will it "sync" up with a steam account? I like having my games all in the same place.

Dawn of War II is also on clearance at Target (found it for $7.48; YMMV, of course) and the CD key can be registered with Steam. Steam also has a demo, for those who want to try out the single player first.

Yes. Once registered it should act a Steam game. You can just input the CD key and then download and install it.

I rather have the retail box version, I like to own my games.

Yes, 100%. I haven't touched the disc since the day I installed it--I launch it through Steam every time.

I don't think that DOWII will play without Steam. Think of it as a $9.99 long-term lease.

DOW2 requires Steam period - regardless of what version you buy (Digital, Retail Box, whatever).
For MP, it also requires G4WL.

Dead Rising 2 PC for $24.90 this week free shipping is too hard to resist. Use code KARTEL on checkout page to drop the price $10.

I have the Halo 2 Import version and it runs/registered just fine on GFWL, I have not however tried registering a CD-key from an import version other than DowII to Steam, but I've been eyeing Napoleon Total War for $12.90:

I'd like to know if import CD-keys will work on Steam other than Dow II, which I know works from first hand experience.

I bought it for a super low price along with other CAGs from a UK online site a while ago, and the cd-key was accepted just fine by Steam.

I might just wait for a steam sale for Napoleon cheap complete this Holiday or next year. I can wait.

Nice deal on Gothic. My video card doesn't quite meet the minimum but I was still able to run the demo acceptably. Still not sure whether to pick it up or not right now though. So many other games coming out that it would probably sit for a while anyway. Might just wait until it hits $20.

Wow, that's a great deal for Dead Rising 2 actually. REALLY tempting...

Would anyone recommend DoW II for $10? I've been wanting it for quite a while but I'm wondering if steam will have it anytime soon for cheaper...

I'd recommend it for $10. Then again, I'd also recommend waiting for Steam to offer the Dow II bundle again if you want both and to be done with it. It can be kind of a pain in the ass to get one for a decent price and then find the other later for also a decent price. Don't quote me, but I think the bundle on Steam was around $15.
