PC headset advice

CAGiversary!
Long story short I need a new mic, the one I have is annoying and isn't a headphone microphone combo it's just an old mic and I don't like it.

I'm looking for a set of comfortable headphones with a mic. They don't have to be huge or fancy, they just need to be cheap.
Im looking for something in the $10-$15 range

Also I don't want the game audio coming through the headphones, just vent or skype. This isn't a must have, but I'd perfer it.

I've done a little searching and so far I've found:
This one
and this one

any help is apreciated and thanks :D!

If you already have headphones, you can get this. It's really lightweight and has great quality. My only problem is that I've gone through 3, but they have lasted for quite a while. I think they sent me a free one when I said it broke, too.

If you want skype/vent only, that depends on your soundcard and how you set it up. If you have a soundcard with a headphone out and it's treated as a separate input, you simply set skype/vent to output to the headphone jack.

You might be better off with a USB headset if you want to separate the vent/skype audio from the game audio. Most integrated soundcards don't have the ability to output different audio streams to the front jacks, you'll just get all the audio coming out of the headset/speakers. With a USB device it almost acts like a second soundcard and windows should let you determine what device to output different sounds to.

I went and checked at walmart today and it didn't seem like they had anything thing good. So I did some amazon searching and I found this
Im not at my main computer right now so I can't check if I can split the audio with a normal headset so if this headset can't do it I'll just save the money and plug some heaadphones into my speakers and use my mic with the game volume on low :p
Dude spend the extra 15-20 bucks and buy this:

http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-Open-Ear-Gaming-Headset/dp/B001KUSXXU/ref=pd_cp_e_1

This will last you a lot longer and sound much better for being on a budget.
Had a pair of these for about 9 months. Good headphones, but be wary of the fragility of some parts. The bendable mic will break if bent too far, and the plastic of the headband is hollow and can most definitely break if you toss it around a bit. Aside from that, great quality for the price.

That is my current headset, I skipped speakers alltogether and just bought those. Good sound, the only complaint I would throw at them is they can be a little uncomfortable after a while. Not terrible, but when compared to the turtle beach x11's my brother bought these are tighter and just all around less comfortable.

Worth the price though, you can get them directly from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-G...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312036686&sr=1-1 for 24.84 will need to add at least 16 cents to get free shipping though. That is what I paid for them and I am very happy for the price.

thought for sure i seen a clear chat last time i went to wallmart. those are really nice but might be 10$ than you;re looking for. then again by the time you pay shipping on a 5 buck item.:)
