Yeah, I don't see the issue with not allowing most vouchers to be combined with GMG credit.  Don't get me wrong, I love it when I'm able to combine both (such as with pre-ordering Ultra SF4), but I also understand why they're limiting it so much.  I feel it's a fair trade off.

Well, I tallied everything up and I earned around $37 USD of credit over the course of IFD.

$15 of that didn't show up, so I just sent in a ticket. It was a lot of work, but it was fun and I discovered and PLAYED some awesome games like Mafia 2, Sang-Froid, Driftmoon, Expeditions: Conquistador, and Woodle Tree Adventure.

Oh, and as much as Magicka is a running joke around here, after actually playing it, it's really damn good! We should have a CAG game night on that game, it really is fun.

So it seems my achievements are no longer being tracked. I wasn't sure at first as I didnt have a lot of games but recent stuff hasnt shown up.

Am I in for a long support ticket ride?

Hm, how long as it been since you got the achievements?

Give it a bit more time, perhaps. Sometimes they don't appear for up to a couple weeks.

If it's been longer then perhaps a support ticket would help (I'm debating doing one myself for some missing "played for the first time" achievements but will wait until next week most likely).

A couple weeks? If something doesn't show up for me after 3-4 days I write it off as missing and put in a support ticket. If it's been 3-4 days and it hasn't shown up, it RARELY shows up (for me).

In any case, support takes forever, and it's no harm if you put in a support ticket then the rewards show up. I'd rather put in a support ticket soon and then wait 1-3 weeks for them to address it, rather than wait 1-3 weeks to see if it shows up... and then wait another 1-3 weeks for them to address the ticket.

Yeah, you'll be sitting around for awhile. I had the same thing happen. Watch out when they do get it working again since I lost the credit I had sitting in GMG at the time from buying something. It was only $0.10 so I didn't argue the point with them but if you have some in there keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Tracking seemed to die for me near the start of the gmg summer sale.

June 7 was my last tracked. I didn't own a lot of the games in the list so I wasn't sure. But the stuff I did recently isn't showing up.

Guess ill send a ticket over.

I managed to get all the LEGO LotR rewards and I've gotta say... I think Tt is back on their game with the LEGO titles. I've greatly enjoyed the last two that I've played - Marvel and LotR. I do like the open-worlds combined with linear levels. The achievements were remarkably easy to get -- other than taking many hours playing through the story.

I'm giving up on the rest of today's rewards (Injustice is 20 GB or so... ). I hate that I didn't get to it because I love the characters.

Tomorrow I'm doing the Rockstar and DiRT 3 "Play for the first time" rewards and maybe L.A. Noire if the achievements don't take too much time.

I agree... it's a very fun game and so hilariously chaotic in multiplay.

Not sure if these 2 soon to be retired rewards were mentioned as being easy or not, but they are.

  • GRID 2 - unlock Vanishing Point - £0.50

Grab your Dodge Challenger, paint it completely white (sponsors can stay), go into custom event, select TIER TWO, change difficulty to easy (or don't), win race, achievement done.

If you've never played, you need to have access to vehicle challenge: California, Bixby Pass, win, pick the Challenger. This, if I remember correctly, can be done very early on.

  • Max Payne 3 - unlock The Only Choice Given - £0.25

Assuming you've beaten the game, and didn't manage to snag this, this one is really simple (and if not, it's probably buried 5-8 hours in).

Go to level select: chapter X, checkpoint 5, turn off any soft/hard locks if enabled (you need free aim), load up level, watch quick cut-scene fold into the on rails segment, shoot and kill all 8 enemies, achievement done.

If failure occurs, hit restart checkpoint.

Has anyone done the Dirt Showdown rewards yet? I'm firing that up now. They don't sound too tough, though the own 15 cars one sounds like it could take too long.

There's a voucher that can be used with credit for the SF4 upgrade?!?
Well many of us were able to combine the 20% off voucher on the main page with our GMG/Playfire credit back when the Ultra SF4 pre-order was first added to GMG's site, but now I'm seeing it doesn't work anymore. It must have been a mistake and they had to fix it I guess.

Hm, you're probably right. I was waiting until all the IFD reward deadlines passed so I could submit one ticket, but I have some older ones, too. For example, I didn't get that 0.50 Rush Bros 'play for the first time' achievement from way back! A few more 'first time' ones from March, too. :whistle2:O

If you don't mind me asking, what's the best way to write the support ticket? I figure just listing the achievements, dates, and amounts should suffice.

Eh, just list em and send a screenshot of your rewards page. That's all you have to do.

I have included screenshots of my Steam achievements page once or twice when I got the achievement close to the deadline, but that's unnecessary.

I played both Marvel and LOTR a bunch when playfire had the rewards for them.. and they were my first LEGO games. While I enjoyed both, I would suggest for anyone looking to get a LEGO game (to actually play, not backlog), just stick with the franchise you like best. I played Marvel first and I realized after a couple hours of playing that I recognized only about 50% of the characters. I switched to LOTR which I was much more familiar with and had a blast. That said, LEGO games (or the two I've played) tend to be pretty solid in terms of gameplay - serviceable combat, levels are nicely structured with cool puzzles, there's a shitload of replay-ability with collectibles, and it's easy to pick up and learn so it's awesome playing with casual/newbie friends and family. Definitely worth checking out if it gets featured in the steam summer sale.

That was easy 0.50£

Anyone wanna help get Max Payne 3 kill friend one?

Only 50%? The only characters they featured in the game were the ones from the new movies (Ironman, Captain America, Spiderman, Thor, etc). That was my biggest complaint about the game. They have a bazillion cool Marvel heroes to choose from and they only use the boring ones in the story.

Most people recommend Marvel most, but I'd say you're right about choosing the franchise you like most. Lego Star Wars still remains my favorite Star Wars game. Also, Marvel's level design is all the fuck over the place. Sure, it's good, but it's so overcomplicated and busy. There's a certain level of simplicity in other Lego games like Star Wars and LotR that puts them above Marvel in certain aspects. Hard to argue that Marvel isn't the biggest, most advanced Lego game yet though.

I have The Hobbit too, but I haven't tried it yet.

I can help you out, add me on Steam (sig) and Rockstar Social club (neurop0d) and we can get it pretty quick. It's harder than it sounds since you have to be in a public match, but still shouldn't take too long.

Anyone else who needs it, feel free to add me as well. I already have it but I don't mind helping out.

That's solid advice. The formula is the same across all of Tts LEGO games -- though the level of execution varies -- and the biggest difference is the cast of characters. Luckily for me, I really like all of the franchises they've done so far.

Yeah, I guess I don't watch that many superhero movies. The last few superhero movies I remember seeing are Ironman, Wolverine Origins, and The Incredible Hulk, and they were all back in 08-09.

So, you didn't know who Thor and Captain America were? o_0
Not really, I've seen the movie posters and heard people talk about them, but I don't know anything about them except Thor is the Norse god of thunder and Captain America has a shield and is really... patriotic? Also I didn't recognize any of the villains except Green Goblin and Doc Oc, since they were in the first 2 Spiderman movies. I don't think there were any supervillians in the Ironman, Hulk, or Wolverine movies.

I guess the main thing was that I didn't understand the story or the motivation behind the characters - it seems like heroes didn't always fight their arch-nemesis supervillian, they were just kind of introduced and taken away from the story in a seemingly random manner - I remember the Juggernaut bossfight, right before you fight him you lose one of the characters that you did 90% of the level with, and then are introduced to Beast (who the fuck?) and he isn't even that vital in the fight, you use him like once or twice and it left me thinking, why? Why did they drop him in right before the boss fight, only to play a very minor role? Was he important story wise? I couldn't tell, and honestly, after 10 levels I still couldn't tell what the story was other than "supervillians are fucking shit up, superheroes to the rescue!"

If you were introduced to some of the most famous Marvel characters of the past half a century or so through a Lego game:

ok_080713_the-hills-shrug.gif

But yeah, there were a few minor roles (I wish there were more of them). The story was silly and basic because it was a Lego game original story. It doesn't connect to a movie like in the other Lego games, it's just a silly Marvel + Lego thing.

Well I guess I'm late to the party, although at this point I don't even care if I ever get there.
If you want a crash course on Marvel characters/stories in a good game, play Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I don't think it ever came to Steam though, I only have it from retail.

I had no idea about half the Marvel cast until I played that game, including Deadpool. Taught me a lot.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is when Deadpool became my favorite Marvel character!

This is rather late, but here's some quick tips on the Dirt Showdown rewards if anyone is considering them.

First one takes awhile, you have to beat the first section of the game, "Pro". The game is fun, the races aren't too hard (you can play on casual if you're having a hard time), and you should get through it in an hour or two.

Second one takes longer, you have to buy cars until you're up to 15 total. Don't buy any upgrades, just save your money and buy new cars when you can. There are enough cars to buy once you finish the Pro section, but you won't have enough money to buy them. Play through a handful of races in the next section, which give $10,000 instead of $5000 and you'll have enough to get the achievement.

50p one is actually the easiest and can be done on the first level. All you have to do is win a raceoff event without boosting. I'd just recommend doing this on the first race (not the intro, the first race you can choose). It shouldn't be too hard to win without boost.

Fun game... It's like Burnout + Flatout, and the variety of game modes is great. My favorite is the sumo mode. fucking fun.

Thanks to Idiot's post I downloaded and this time actually played Dirt Showdown. It's a really good game!. People must realize is a 100% arcade racing game, I'm liking it as much as Dirt 2. I'm keeping it installed

I didn't see it otherwise mentioned upthread, but Groupees added the steam keys for Farm for your Life to the Casual Groupee bundle, and there's still 2 days to pick up it's 4 rewards.

Wow, VVVVVV was pretty fun, and not that hard. Up to a point. Then suddenly there's a level when you have to escort someone through the level, and they follow you. It sucks balls. Too friggin hard. I can't recommend anyone play it for achievements.

Yeah, that part made me rage-quit.

If you want to reach true insanity try your hand at "Doing things the hard way" trinket.

Somewhere in that upside-down cavern I lost another fragment of my sanity. Or maybe I never had it to begin with.

I didn't rage quit ... but I do remember saying " fuck this" after trying it a good number of times. Even watching a youtube vid didn't help. It's just the lack of control on making Victoria follow you. (She's a stupid cow)

I'll pass. I'm never playing that game again. :twoguns:

Heh.

There's a no death achievement.

Heh. Ha. Ha ha ha hahahahahahahahahahHAHAHhahHAHhahHAHAHhahHAHAHA,,,

fuck

They should make that the 50p reward on PF next time. It'd be funny to see how many players achieve it.
Those are actually easy to get, just turn on invincible and you can beat the whole game and get those no death / die less than achievements. I agree though, after playing that game again I remember why I uninstalled it long ago. It's the type of game that causes me to have to buy a new controller.

On another note I finished Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers rewards. They really were pretty easy.

  • Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers - unlock Invincible Pupil - £0.10
Just don't die in the first level, not the tutorial but the one after that it's called "The Bowl of Trying".

  • Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers - unlock The God of the Dull Rock - £0.25
If you are playing the levels in order you will actually get this one last. It's on level 4. This video is good to follow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMXFpRe1yxw

  • Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers - unlock Clay Pigeons - £0.50
This one comes during level 3 it's a little mini game hidden in the level. It appears you have to slice the pillar as they come down but I never had any come down, I just stood there six or so pillars shot up but never came down and achievement unlocked. This is a good video to follow for that one:

Thanks for the videos.

Well, I did a full playthrough of Farm for your Life's story mode.

Took about 8 hours.

It's a really addicting game.

I was only able to get Gravedigger, which you achieve by digging around a bunch in the graveyard of the forest. I'm not sure of which squares exactly. Just dig around until it pops.

Savior does not unlock upon completing the game, so that theory has been disproven.

I have no idea how to get Savior or Daredevil. If anyone else does, please share.
