PC Problems , Annoying Ones...

When ever I start up my PC and click on my user icon, I get a blank screen with just my wall paper showing, no taskbar or icons. SO I end up having to ctrl-alt-del and clicking file-run- desktop and this process takes FOREVER to load. Any answers as to how I can fix this problem?
 
You know, I was just about to start a thread about this too. My laptop, which I only use for typing in class and going online has this problem too. It would freeze on that wallpaper page a lot, and if I tried clicking four or five times, my computer would emit a loud beep and it would freeze up.

Even if it loads properly, it takes over 3-4 minutes to start up right.

I'm thinking it might be a hardware problem..
 
sounds like you have a bad malware infection, if you can get into safe mode with networking supprt (hit F8 a few times on bootup, after the POST screen, but before the windows XP startup)

download smitfraudfix here:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe

run smitfraudfix in safe mode. I'd also run a spyscan as well (I like spybot which you can get here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

spybot can be downloaded and installed in safemode, you'll need to download teh updates after you install it, but that should help get rid of this problem, PM me if you need anymore help!

Alright I'll try that cuz I just started up again and the same thing happened even after I ran the other 2 programs
