pc problems

Eastsidecracker

CAGiversary!
Well came home after work, and pc wouldn't turn on(back of psu was hot and smelled burned, was off for several hours. I unpluged everything and plugged in psu, and it booted, screen popped up but nothing else (mouse ect) worked. had to completely unplug to shut off, kept trying but didn't work. still amelled and wouldn't power off by itself. any ideas? I'm thinking power supply, bujt have no idea.

It sounds like a power supply to me.

If you purchased it from Dell, HP, etc. see if it could be covered under any type of warranty (if it's an older system it's kind of doubtful).

If you need a new one, I put in a OCZ power supply in my PC and it works great. It's got a ton of cables though (which could be a blessing or a curse, depending on how many drives you have in the PC).
