[PC] The Indie Gala Thread

The humiliation of the Flock devs continues.

How long until they're forced to start giving the game away?
What's the story there? Honest question, I have no idea.

If I had to guess they were probably hit by the Wild +1 Bunch, led by Butch Madjoki and the Spoder Kid.

They overestimated the demand for their concept. Flock was the game that was supposedly going to die once all the playable characters (something like 200 million) died, meaning every time your character kicked the bucket, one less person would be able to play. Unfortunately, nobody cared enough to buy in early and beat the rush, the game hit the bundle market, still nobody gave enough of a crap to play it, devs gave up & nixxed the server which controls the population count. Now it's just another +1 dead multiplayer game.

Indef's description is pretty good. In fact, it contained info that I didn't have. I didn't even know about them abandoning the population count gimmick. The one thing I might add is that there was a fair amount of ballyhoo in the press at the time regarding the unique nature of the game.

2 VR games

1 RPGMaker game

1 Multiplayer-only game

At $3.49, that leaves 6 non-trash games (disclaimer: some of these too may very well be trash) for about $0.60 each.

Color Syndrome looks good, though I played it a million times when it was called Tetris.

I dunno... looks like another smelly Indie "look we are slightly better than Groupees" Gala bundle.

Yeah, even at HH prices I think this is another pass. I usually delude myself that I'll play at least one game in a bundle. This is another bundle of poop I'd never, ever touch.  :speaktothehand:

Is it just me, or are Indie Gala doing a lot of Kiss games giveaways lately? Makes me think it's an effort to sabotage the Kiss Build-A-Bundle that groupees has going on right now. They keep doing kiss games one after another. I'm surprised they don't just have all the giveaways running consecutively.

Granted, there are a lot of Kiss games that they have done giveaways for in the past. So it could be a big coincidence. But there is bad blood between IG & Groupees, so I wouldn't put it past IG to be doing it out of spite.

That's been happening for over a year now, it's not something they started doing recently. Probably some kind of deal they made with KISS.

Surprised that The Flock was bundled on Bundlestars and now IG, and not on Groupees. The patch update notes for the game on Steam have been written by cyanic. You'd think he'd try to spread the game through Groupees.

New Hump Day Bundle with games that look a little better than your usual stuff (well 3-4 of them).  One of them turned out to be VR (the horror one).

Now this is my type of bundle...games I may play, that I likely never will for HH prices! Oh and I get to add yet another VR game to my big file of Steam codes.

The only thing I want out of that bundle is the SNES game.
One of the late levels is nearly impossible. I literally only know of one guy who's beaten it, and he spent over half his playtime on the one level. The game gives you 50 lives to start with, and he ran out on that level.

EDIT: Just realized that there are two SNES games. I meant the unreleased one, Dorke and Ymp.

Eh another get for me. Monsterland looks similar to Doom the Roguelike and that Action RPG look alright. I own one of the games and another match 3 garbage game so those will not be redeemed by me...Plus a freakin' not released SNES game...how much better could it get!

I wish they'd included Princess Isabella in this bundle, I didn't buy the last Artifex Mundi bundle because that was the only game I was missing from it.

Indie Gala has some pretty cheap Disney-published stuff if you are not from the US/RUS/ASIA, or are traveling outside those areas anytime soon.

Disney Games are NOT AVAILABLE in US, ASIA & RUSSIA

Made a quick trip to buy the Star Wars games I was missing, thanks to Pengy and hal for the posts. Waited too long on the Disney Princess and Fairy Pack (chicks out for Motoki), the price was ~$7, or $5 cheaper than it is on Steam.

Prices reverted back to normal.
