People are camping out already for the DS LITE

and if there are lines forming nationwide, they would have articles online already.. maybe in a few isolated places where there is only 1 or 2 electronic stores there would be lines... If im not mistaken even the launch of the original DS and PSP, you could walk in the store on launch and get one...so I doubt DS lite, which is only a redesign, would require camping...
 
Given that a lot of gamers have been waiting for the DS Lite, the extreme hype from Japan, and the positive mainstream press Nintendo has received from the Touch Generations series, I'd wager the launch supply will sell out in pretty quick order.

as others have said, I am also surprised that people are camping out for the DS Lite.

I'll be waking up early to get one for my friend though. I have work later that day so it's the only time I can go.

This is my 1st post here :) I also think its a little nuts to wait over night for DS:L but to each his own. I was up a little later than usual tonight so I took a quick 5 min drive to the 24/7 wal-mart. I was suprised to find 4 people waiting for midnight to purchase theirs. I already had one sitting @ Circ.City., but I wanted it to charge over night :p so I picked one up and cancelled my CC order.

I just got back from EB and they had a TON of systems on the shelf and only a handful of preorders according to the manager. I got mine and it works great!
 
I was surprised to see a line (well not really) of about 10 people in front of the local Best Buy this morning. I actually brought my phone with the intent to take pictures but didn't see any cute girls... so I didn't bother. =p

I got mine today, works great.

The store only did get 12 units (EB Games), all were presold. There was a couple in line in front of me at the store who wanted one, but couldn't find one. They were kind of annoyed that I was getting one, but hey, that's what you get if you don't preorder.

I didn't make it anywhere else in town today, so I don't know how had they are to come by.

There was no one at either circuit city I went to this morning, 3 people came in while I was waiting at the first for them to find the mario bundle and brain age and bought lites (didn't end up having the freebies so I went to another CC and bought one, they had a ton).

Looks like the BBs and 2 of the 3 CCs within 25 miles of me still have them in assuming the in store pick up in stock indicators are accurate.

Anyone that camped for this was an idiot, these are crazy easy to find today.
 
I left my house at around 2PM and arrived at my local wal-mart shortly there after, only to find that they did not have any in stock. There was an empty space, however, where they should have been. Was this because they had sold out before I got there, or perhaps the man I spoke with last night was telling the truth - and they really had not yet received their DS Lites? Whatever the case, they were not there.

I decided to hit up another wal-mart not too far from where I live and found that there were plenty.

In other news, I decided to check out my local EB Games // Gamestops to see if they had any good preplayed DS games to take advantage of the B2G1 deal... they were all entirely cleaned out except for a copy of Feel the Magic or some other crap.

I was just at my local EB looking for DS games and noticed something interesting.

First off, as expected, I overheard that they only had enough copies to cover pre-orders.

They also had display boxes out with red stickers in the corner that read "Coming Soon, 7/11/06". Is EB really not going to get DS Lite's for an entire month or were those old boxes before a release date was set?
