PGR4 - feat. Geometry Wars - Valentine's DLC Free & Premium (400pts) Now Up

I have been thinking about picking up PGR3 soon after I get down with Burnout but then Forza 2 comes out which I think will be great.

Holy crap... I don't know what to make of that. I mean, would they be integrated into one career mode, where you could get Kudos with either a car or a bike (bike=car?). I'd imaging balancing them would be tricky if they compete with each other. Or would there be two career modes, where bikes and cars are separated?

I just hope it's not like PGR2. I didn't like the classing structure of that one.
 
PGR is my favorite racing series. So far the screens are looking real good and I'm glad weather effects are back. That motorcycle on the cover art is interesting...
 
god damnit NO...all they need to do is put PGR 4 on the cover, stick the PGR3 disc in the case and I'll be happy, no bikes.
 
Bikes?! Sweet weather effects? This just got more interesting by the moment.

It's unfortunate PGR4 will prolly sell like crap since most people already grabbed Forza/Dirt and It's being released in the already overcrowded holiday season. Atleast I know PGR2 didn't sell all that well compared to PGR1 (launch title) and I'm assuming PGR4 won't sell well as PGR3. Then again I can't predict the economy, so you never know.
 
Here's the bikes:

Don't think of motorcycles as some cheap toss on, an added bonus or some kind of fun unlockable. Bizarre Creations is taking bikes seriously (well, as seriously as the powerslide-heavy series can manage). There will be a little over 130 vehicles that can fill up your various garages in PGR4, at least 30 of which will be motorcycles. Among the manufacturers onboard are Honda, MV Agusta, and Ducati. And yes the "original naked motorcycle" the Ducati Monster will be among the roster of bikes.

The team racing dynamic sounds incredibly fun for online play. Takes the car club ideas to a different level in racing games.
 
I am looking forward to this game. Kinda scary that there wasn't a single post in this thred for over a month when we're getting so close to release. Are people just not that interested in this game or is it just a lack of info to talk about?
 
Geometry Wars: Waves will be in PGR4:

Speaking to Pro-G at the Leipzig Games Convention, Bizarre Creations has revealed that a new Geometry Wars game will be featured in October's Project Gotham Racing 4. Dubbed "Geometry Wars: Waves," the shape shooter will be an exclusive Project Gotham bonus and unlike Retro Evolved, won't be sold on Xbox Live Arcade. That makes for an excellent bonus for racing fans, but a $60 investment for those just hoping to exact revenge on the sneaky green square.

Not to worry though, as Bizarre also stated that Waves is based on Retro Evolved and not a "true" sequel as such. Alternatively, you can be sucked in by the gravity wells of Geometry Wars: Galaxies, out this Fall on DS and Wii.

Achievement list is up:

We also wanted our achievements to be fun and less based on milestones like 'number of races won', kudos score etc. We wanted a set of achievements that appealed to the four broad gamertypes on Xbox Live (you may have seen this before)
  1. Achievers - Players that play games to completion, at the hardest difficulty they can. Give them a target, they'll beat it. Give them 120 cars to collect, they'll collect them!
  2. Killers - Players that play games to beat people online. Trueskill is their king!
  3. Explorers - Players that play a game until they've seen everything in the game. They love finding 'secret' things and don't really care about finishing the game on hard
  4. Socialisers - Players that love the social elements of online gaming, and just having fun playing casually.
Traditionally 360 achievements have tended to cater for the Achiever and Killer gamertypes. In PGR4 we're still catering for these sorts of people, but also giving out achievements that suit Explorers and Socialisers. So you'll see 'secret' achievements that need so detective work to find out, achievements for sharing photos online or getting all players in a lobby to do a jump at the same time, along with the usual 'Get a platinum medal' type achievements. So hopefully there will be something for everyone, and a few more players will get to that 1000 gamerpoints goal than the tiny fraction that did in PGR3!

actually after reading it I'm not sure what it means. You have to play split screen, and finish in first and second, and you both have to be going in reverse?
 
This Beat Bizarre achievement is better than the GHIII one, but I'm getting sick of the "beat the creators" achievements.
 
Gone gold and looking good. I'm ready for some tadem racing action with this and Forza2.

Now I just need a wheel. :p

1983 Firebird? WTF? Why not use the 82 with the Crapfire intake? :roll:

The 89 TTA would have been a much better choice. Or a 2002 Blackbird, or a 77 Bandit Edition, or a 69 T/A, or a 99 30th TA.

What a waste of the Pontiac marque. Because let's not even mention the 67 GTO.

I know , I'm all about the '89 Turbo T/A . One of the best Firebirds ever .

I'm still buying the game, but to feature the worst performing year of all the F-bodies? (Except for the previously mentioned 1982)

You just have to wonder where they got that year from. It's not as if it has a nice aero package or anything either. I would have also taken a 1992 Firehawk.
 
I'm definitely interested in this game. I have it as day one, which sucks because there are no deals I could find for pre-order.

I'm excited about the game and don't even have a 360 yet. I loved pgr2 online and off. I could sorta care less about the firebird but can't wait to try out the lotus exige - pgr2 started my love affair with it.

It does seem like people have less interest for this game than the previous one...I wish I cared, its a pretty game, but God do I suck at sim racers. I have it on queue from Gamefly...unless the upcoming demo completely sucks I'll wait for the rental.
 
I'm getting it for sure, seems like the game that PGR3 was supposed to be.

I just don't really have nothing to talk about at this time about the game.

I'm just deciding if i should sell Forza 2 as funds towards this. I just keep telling myself I'll go back and play Forza sometime.

I think it's because this game walks in Halo 3's shadow .

I'll always buy PGR no matter what , I played PGR 2 for over like 400 hours .

This game will be great , it's just a matter of everyone's limited budget as to what games they'll be buying this holiday .

I hope this game does well , if it don't only the true fans will be online playing it . Which could be a bad thing [they'll all be really good] .

Well it could be good if only hardcore PGR fans are online, I kept hearing about assholes playing PGR3 as if it was Burnout when it first came out.

I want me a BMW M3 GTR and Ferrari Challenge Stradale. Those two in the game is a sure purchase from me.

PGR3 almost completed that short wishlist. The Ferrari didn't have the racing stripes and the BMW was the standard model.

To the above comments, yeah there's no excuse for a game to not keep a level in memory for instant restarts. Especially in racing games and whatnot. Even little things like switching garages is not quick enough. Like the developers did a good job developing the game (since it's very impressive for a launch title) but not tweaking for performance.
