I just picked up PGR3 last week at Hastings for $9.99 and I have to say it is easily the best ten bucks I've ever spent. I got this game pretty close to release and didn't give it the appreciation it deserved then. Loving it now though and can't wait for PGR4.....

Is the list in the OP the confirmed final list? Because it's missing the R34 Skyline Z-tune from the last game. I already paid for it once (it was DLC), I'd much rather have it in from the start this time.

The list is from www.bizarrecreations.com , I'm pretty sure it's the final list .

Look at all of the 'new' cars , you can drive a Skyline in any typical game nowadays .

The Z-tune isn't "a" Skyline, it's "the" Skyline.

I was hoping it'd make it into Forza 2. Oh well, perhaps GT5 will get it.

I like american cars the best , so I don't really mind .

Is the IP for PGR owned by MS? I think it is since they switched it to that from Metropolis Street Racer on DC right? I was under the impression that Bizzare Creations was 2nd Party the whole time. Kinda surprised MS didn't secure them given the PGR series has become a staple for their systems.

Actually you could be right, I don't really follow PGR so I'm not sure, I thought Bizzare Creations was a 1st party.

Or did Bizzare not make that port?
Well, it was their game originally or something.

No, I knew about Geometry Wars, just wondering if PGR was owned by MS or Bizzare Creations...

If Microsoft does indeed own the IP, that certainly doesn't spell the end for PGR. They could

a) license it to Bizarre again in exchange for exclusivity or money or whatever
b) get another developer to create a game with the IP

among other things. If PGR4 sells well, I'm sure they'll find a way to continue the brand.
I think MS owns the IP.

So no more MSR (sega owns that one)
And no more PGR.
There are plenty more DC Comics cities to name games after .;)

PGR1 and PGR3 sold pretty well on the XBox/360 and PGR2 got the "meh" from Microsoft awhile back, I wonder if this has anything to do with their release? I always thought they were first party, but this disproves that.

Either way good chance for Sony Fanboys to drool over the PGR franchise. I feel PGR2/PGR3 are the best racing games, even over the original Forza as far as pure racers go. Not sure about Forza 2, still haven't gotten that one yet.

Coast City Racer?

Keystone Racer?

Themyscira Racer?

Damn, I might have to get this at launch. Don't know where I'm going to come up with the cash, though. Guess I got to get on the ball selling stuff.

BTW, feel free to CML

man, i can't wait for this game. the bikes are awesome and fun to use.

i actually won a copy at the PGR4 Launch Party in Orlando, FL racing on stage. :)

I wish new games didn't cost so much money because I'd love to get this on release day. Knowing it comes with a new Geometry Wars game almost makes it justifiable.

I love PGR but there's no reason for this to be $60 when PGR3 launched at $50. Will probably wait for the retail site.

I don't know if it's out yet here. The gamer pic is a big red 4 and no person here seems to have that on their Xbox gamer card yet when it lists played games.

I'm going to have to put this on hold , as my basement has flooded and I had to pay $260.00 to fix the problem .

I'm not happy about having to wait or the $260 .

fuck I forgot to take zelda phantom hourglass off my gamefly que. It just got sent out today, rather than this being sent out, guess I'll be missing out on this for a few weeks.

I'm heading out in the next 30 mins or so, as Best Buy states it will be in stores by 2pm, so I'll let you know once I get it.
Anyone pick this up yet? I was going to head over to Gamecrazy, but then worried about the load times after PGR3. Anyone able to comment?

Thanks!
I'm with you there. I enjoyed PGR3 but the long load times (even when redoing the same exact race with the same exact cars) really hurt it for me. If this one has fixed that and TRU does another B2G1 sale, this'll probably be one of my picks.

Did Microsoft own part of Bizarre Creations ?

i thought they were independant & MS just published for them.

It would make sense since SEGA is publishing the club for them.

If MS did own part, what percert % of the company did they own & sell to Activision?

Anybody?

I played the fuck out of PGR3.

I have PGR4 coming from Gamefly. Normally this would be a purchase for me...but after Halo and this month: Zelda, Orange Box, and Guitar Hero III, I'm pretty spent.
it's 51.99 at costco....i think i will pick it up alongside with some salad.
Holy shit dude, I spit water all over my screen when I read that. Hilarious!!!!!

If I put up a peice of paper that said "laugh" on it in front of you, I would bet $5000 that you would actually laugh.

i was about to pick this up.. but, i'd like to know about the load times. pgr3 has the worst load times of any game that i've ever played. why can't they just make hard drives mandatory for some games?

If you resstart a race does it take 30-45 seconds to reload everything or is it instant? Waiting almost a minute each time I hit a cone make PGR3 unplayable.

I picked the game up yesterday and played for about an hour and half on arcade mode. The load times are still there, however they do not seem as long as PGR3, they do seem improved.

Overall, I love the game so far, it has alot more polish than PGR3 and the bikes are a nice addition.

The graphics look great and the songs I heard on the soundtrack are good. I will probably spend some more time playing this game tonight.
I picked the game up yesterday and played for about an hour and half on arcade mode. The load times are still there, however they do not seem as long as PGR3, they do seem improved.
Load times when you retry or just inital load times?

That's unfortunate. If Halo 3 can just hiccup a bit when I die to get be back where I need to be, there's no excuse for a retry in PGR to not be instantaneous.

I might have to hunt down some videos who might give an indication of how long the wait is.

Just got back from picking this up . I'll be able to answer any questions soon after I get a chance to check it out .

[Check for a change in my Gamercard to see if I've played it yet]

My most important question is how do the bikes handle in comparison to other games? I've been playing Test Drive Unlimited a lot lately, those bikes droves like shit and it really soured the overall experience a bit.

Well Ive given the game 2 nights, and I just don't think its for me.

Beautiful to look at no doubt. Weather isn't as great as I thought it would be though. Seeing windshield wipers go back and forth is nice, but rain/snow is never heavy enough to obstruct your view. instead your car is just sliding all over the place. And some jumps that land right in puddles, for extra loss of control.

Bikes, to me, just feel out of place. They look awkward on the track, with the cars. The ones I played did drift really well, but 1st person bike camera made me want to throw up.

Some tracks are just too narrow, for a 'street racer' Ive seen other boards complain about the difficulty, and I would have to agree. Normal just feels a little hard, especially when your having to beat a track time.

Load times are definitely there, and even when you reload a race, albeit a little shorter.

I don't know, for every race I had fun with, there would be one that was too frustrating. I enjoy older Need For Speed games, and Burnout, so maybe PGR is just too much sim for me. But it is pretty!
