Looked around and didn't see this deal posted. Here's the link:

Check to see if one of your local Gamestops has it. Mine did, but it was gutted. Ugh. Still may pick it up though, since it looks like this game is starting to get kind of rare.

Edit:

Don't forget you could also price match at BestBuy! Check to see if one around you has it:

I used a receipt from GS as proof, which still took a while for them to approve, and they didn't bother checking the GS site even though I mentioned it, so YMMV on whichever method you choose!

Hm . . . I've been on the fence about whether to pick this one up or not. The price makes it a little better, but I still don't know when I'd actually get around to playing it.

Anyone have any recommendations on this one way or the other? Is it worth it?

Phantom Brave is a great game if you like Disgaea-style strategy RPGs, but you can get the PS2 version used for like $7, and there's not a whole lot of worthwhile content added to the Wii version.

And to note, this is basically the combat system that morphed into the system in Disgaea, so it's not as complex as, say, remakes of Disgaea or Disgaea 3.

Just picked it up now. It looks like it was put on the shelf in a cardboard sleeve, so all the stickers and dents are on that, and the game's actual case looks untouched. Also, I just noticed this game comes with a "Digital Art Disc". Wish they had used that CD for that RQ exclusive soundtrack instead...Oh well.

As for whether it is 480p / 16:9, its supposed to be based on what I've read. That's supposed to be one of the few additions to the Wii version, I think.
I picked this up last week at BB for $20. It's a store specific markdown.
Hm, yeah, still $39.99 on the BB website. I'd rather get it from them since it would be sealed, but I don't feel like running around to all of the stores that have it in stock just hoping to get lucky and find a marked down copy.

Where was the BB that you got it at?

I went to GameStop after work and picked up this and Glory of Heracles, both gutted (of course). Then I went to Best Buy to pick up the new New Pornographers CD that came out today, and realized they had both there in stock (for full price), with the Phantom Brave slipcase in much better condition because it was locked inside a plastic case away from people handling it. So I price matched both of them (the guy at the customer service desk couldn't believe the price was that low at first, but after I showed him the receipt and the GameStop website, he did the match with no further hassle), and took the gutted ones back to GameStop.
Picked up a sealed copy last night, thanks OP! Phantom Brave is the best Nippon Ichi game.
I wouldn't go that far =P

There are some minor improvements in this game such as new story mode mission, game plus, wii controls, small amount of new items and you can use the NPC(Non Playable Characters) unlike the ps2 version. The only small downside is no wide screen and small display window that doesn't show all the elemental weakness unlike the ps2 version. In all, the Wii version is far superior in every way. The controls are fine in this game. You tilt your control horizontally and use controls similar to Paper Mario or New Mario Super Mario Brothers. If you play the ps2 version, there's really no need to replay this game. The new story mode feels tack on and just add additional hours of gameplay.

This is type of game you either going love or hate it. In this game, you control a girl who can gave ghost life in the real world, but only in limited amount of turns. Some people hate it since it kinda encourage level grinding since you can't dominate with one character and you need a full developed party in order to succeed. While others enjoy it due to unique game play and it encourage strategy. Of course, like any type NIS game you can power level and throw the whole strategy thing out the window. Even if you hate doing the long complex task of power level or level grinding, you can easily swipe else save and play new game plus with it. I think I still have a save for it if you want it.

If anyone is getting this game, there's a eguide for ps2 version. Although it lack exclusive Wii content, it is still really useful . Personally, I avoid everything else and use the failure fusion guide. Special thanks to ZekuMusashi from gamefaqs for providing the guide.

Actually ended up doing the same thing. They seemed to have a lot of copies at my Bestbuy, and all the Bestbuys around me have it, so I have a feeling it shouldn't be too hard to find for most people. Added it to the OP!
