Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Why did we all get our panties in a twist anyways? Props to gizmogc for making serious bank and props to Capcom for having a hit on their hands even with as few copies as they printed. Props to everyone. Sometimes we all get lucky, sometimes we don't. I'm going to go beat it now...peace. Let's please let this thread die?

It will probably be unsuccessful on cell phones are be ported to the GBA(I hope). No one seems to be praising Capcom for this, so I don't know why they thought this was a good idea in the first place.

You sure do like to take some initiative, don't you?

Well it was getting hostile between some people and I just felt like someone needed to jump in and change the subject. Plus, I wanted to keep the thread from hitting 200 posts...superstitious...

I won one but paid to much. its my fault though I for some dumbass reason passed this game up on 3 different occasions in the stores last year. I'll just call it my birthday present to me.

I hear there will be a reprint come March or something... don't know if that's true though. I'm still contemplating if I should trade for it or not.

I think people are referring to the european release, and the possibility of importing

Thats the european release. I think people are saying we will see more copies just to make themselves feel good. What I mean by that is people think that they will be able to get a copy and I honestly don't think they will. The 2nd one is due in time and this is why I don't see the first one being reprinted in North America again.

I was just at Frys today, and they had about 15 copies of Phoenic Wright there. So maybe the reprint already happened?? If anyone else can confirm this, that would be great.

Someone earlier on mentioned that their Frys had a bunch of copies (gizmogc?). If you have it around you, great (pick it up), but I haven't seen it anywhere since January.

damn, this game has had me in its clutches for the past week...i thought it was short!! I've put in a good 2 hours a night (sacrificing lots of sleep)

great stuff though...I would easily buy any version of this game, but sadly, we probably won't see any more on the ds.

Get it now while it's still relatively cheap!

I just beat this game today. Honestly, I found it to be pretty dissapointing. The characters and plots were well written, but really unnecessarily long-winded, and not being able to speed up the text was a major thorn in its side. And while some of the puzzles were good, there weren't nearly enough of them. And the non-court segments were a pain in the ass as you usually just had to show everyone every piece of evidence until something new would happen and then someone else would appear in a different local, making it horribly linear. Ultimately, I felt that it moved too slow as a book, and there wasn't enough gameplay in it to be much of a game. As much as I like the idea of a lawyer game, I didn't think Phoenix Wright came close to living up to its potential.

Still, I'm not sorry I bought it since it will only increase in value over time. If anyone's interested I'd be willing to trade my copy for Ouendan.

Mr. Durand Pierre, did you not buy the game knowing that it was text adventure?

(jeez, i'm such a dork...back to research...)

I knew it was an adventure game, but text adventure is a somewhat relative term. Originally text adventures were just like point-and-click adventures sans the visuals. But they still had plenty of puzzles. Phoenix Wright just didn't have enough puzzling. I guess I'm used to adventures where you can use the objects in your inventory with other objects (say while investigating), but Phoenix Wright more just felt like a book that made you jump through a lot of hoops to read. Presenting evidence was fun, but that was about the only time I felt like I was really solving anything. I liked the game quite a bit at first, but by the time I got to the gargantuan 5th case the novelty had worn off.

RISE FROM THE ASHES

I just finished this game tonight after holding off for so long. I had finished the GBA levels a while ago but stopped as I was 1/4th of the way into the DS level. I think the reason was because the last GBA level was so epic/long, I needed a break. Felt the same about the last level, though I really enjoyed all the things you could do with the touch screen/microphone.

I really like text based adventure games and text based games in general, so I was biased with this one. The characters were great, especially Wright and Edgey! I have to agree with Mr Durand Pierre though, I really wish there was an option to speed up the text.

Overall, I had an awesome time with the game. I hope more people buy the 2nd one that comes out when it is released. I would hate for people to give it attention simply because it may become one of those "OmG..it goes for X amount on Ebay" kind of games.

TAKE THAT!

Ok, really don't want to read through all these pages and maybe I am being lazy, but is there anyway to delete the saved file on phoenix wright?? Because I don't see a place in the game unless you need to hit some crazy button combos.
I don't think you can, though the chapters are replayable.
What about after you beat the game though? Doesnt seem to have a save feature after you beat the last chapter(on the import at least)

 I love that thing...
It automatically saves the fact that you beat the last chapter.
Ill have to go back and beat it again then, because it didnt save for me. After the credits and ending it just went back to the original screen so i turned it off.
this is fucking hillarious...I think I'm going to start a thread with this "objection" site.
aw man I kno huh?!?!

I wanted to do that too!

It should be saved. Go start a new game, and you'll be able to select chapter 5, and the faster text option will be enabled.
