not making fun of really, it's just not quite up to speed for photoshop. My tablet had a slightly more powerful processor from the same line and it has the same struggles, so I know your troubles first hand.

If you want a computer that can handle CS4, you should have bought a IMac. Make as many jokes as you want, but I honestly have both a IMac and an HP pavillion elite. Apple is for art, and photos. that's about it. Pc's are for gaming and filing, (and breaking 5 days after you get them.) You made a mistake by buying a pc for creative purposes. If you payed 1k-600 for CS4, then you really need to make sure you have a comp that can run it, if you didn't buy it (i.e. pirated it), that means your an ass, therefore you deserve to be shot. By no means am I trying to start a Mac vs PC fight. Macs come with very beautiful displays, huge processors, good graphics cards, and are all around beautiful machines to use art programs. On my IMac I have: Manga Studio 3, Alchemy (freeware, check it out!), CS4, and some other cheap/free programs. I can run them all at the same time, no performance issues.
(experience gained form using these programs over the last 5 years. (AND PHOTOSHOP ON A NOTEBOOK...WTF?????) You really need to invest in a wacom tablet after you find a computer thats processor is bigger than a pea. :bomb:

If your a serious artist - NEVER touch your history. I cannot tell you how many times it has saved me. I have it to where if my computer shuts down, the history will still be there. I would strongly advise never doing anything to the history. Cut some other useless stuff, like if you don't use gradients, I'm pretty sure you can turn em off!:D

The thing about running photoshop on a notebook was that was even remotely intelligent in this post

This is BS. it really doesn't matter if you run a Mac or windows. Total misconception that mac is for creative people.

I use Photoshop all day everyday on my PC for years. I also use it on my Xps NOTEBOOK OMG... yeah its fine on a notebook. You sir don't need to post when all your doing it is to start a conflict. Telling him he should of bought a mac is not helpful and typical mac mindset. shouldn't you be off making an I movie or something?

What OS are you using? I CS4 on my laptop and no problems that I noticed as of yet. I'm using the Windows 7 ultimate "trial" thing that got released a couple of months ago. It's an old toshiba satellite. I plan to get the "retail/oem" version in the near future so I don't have to deal with the expiration thing.
