I see trollin' is proficient in this thread, for one it helps those that haven't found one, free shipping if you have ShopRunner and if you don't get charged taxes in your state with NewEgg it's even a sweeter deal.

I'd get one if only I had a minor interest in the 3DS, but no games I truly want atm. Thanks for posting though.

Sealed Pikachu Gameboy Advance SPs can go for a lot of money on eBay, almost $1000. I imagine some people want this so they can hoard it away for later.

Some may just want to take 3D pictures with Pikachu's nipples.

These things are selling for ~$300 already on eBay and it's the first week they've been out...even MSRP for one of these puppies is well worth it.

This is actually a really nice protip, thanks. I don't have a Discover card but I might get on in the future knowing this. I have a MasterCard CC atm, but apparently they only price match local ads, nothing online.

Honestly, I don't know why people want to buy that thing, yellow outside white inside, like bananas or twinkies, it's so racists if you ask me.
I also think Pikanips is pretty stale looking.. BUT the thing is, there's a huge market for this. The obvious one, kids, then you have the older generation who grew up with Poke Red, Blue, and Yellow so they might want one for nostalgia sakes, and of course we got the collectors that collect any special editions out there.

Damn, thought that was an exaggeration but I just checked.. Holy.

Haha, I hadn't heard of this. I guess my days of buying different colored systems are over (finally) but it does look fun! Glad it's an XL and not an original...hope the original just goes away and the XL is the 3DS.

 • Completed and signed claim form.
 • The Discover card statement showing the entire original purchase price.
 • The sales receipt indicating the date, the store, the item and the amount of purchase
 • Either a copy of the dated, printed, lower-price ad, or a statement, signed by the store manager on store stationery, documenting the details of the lower price of the identical item.
I don't think discover will take a screen shot as proof. You will need the ad or a note from the store manager signed.

Okay, I'm just going to say this... GBA is so yesterday, if I really want to play GBA, I would use the DS lite, the display is much better. For collectible purposes? It's pretty much "beauty in the eye of the beholder." To me, the Pikachu consoles are just meh (and I think Pikachu is cute). $900 for a GBA? I rather buy the next gen console, why dwell in the past when there's so much to be enjoyed at the present and the future?

Nostalgia is a good word, but spending way too much money or time on things from the past is just unhealthy. It's more like a disease, to refuse to move on.

not sure how your link has anything to do with what we're talking about.

They are producing tons more of this so the value will drop 100% positive. This will be easy to find in the next few months.

Sure after years the price may increase, but you will be able to just walk into a store and buy them soon.

Proof?
Proof?
the fact that every store still has this available on their website. If they weren't making more they would have discontinued the item.

The fact that target is getting another shipment in in 2-3 weeks. "New Estimated Delivery Date: 04/17/2013 - 05/03/2013"

The fact that it was sold at dozens of different stores, even small stores.

The fact that nintendo is not stupid and will milk pokemon for all it is worth. Ofcourse they will stop making this eventually, but not until they flood the market and everyone has bought 2-3 of these.
Proof?
Just ignore them... I've tried to reason with them, but apparently a small group wants to constantly point out irrelevant things as proof and assumptions as fact. I'll still do it in this post since I am calling them out, but it's getting old... I suppose that was the perk of the Zelda 3DS, that thing took so long to sell out that no one was ever really able to gauge the edition size so no one made stupid posts about how great it was.

1) Cause that clearly happens 6 days after it releases.
2) Or they're trying to fulfill orders and instead of canceling they're changing the shipping date.
3) So? If you sell it at 1 store with a lot of systems per store or 10 locations with 2 - 3 per location, it roughly evens out.
4) Yeah... thats why they brought it out to the US last and let it sell out in 1 day in Japan.

Just like all the Zelda 3DSes floating around huh?

Might be YMMV then because I had no problem having them return the price difference between a past Frys.com and BestBuy.com order, using that method.
