UPDATE: The liveblog starts at 7:30 PM EST. You can find it at: http://blog.pikimal.com/geek/2010/12/11/2010-video-game-awards-extravaganza/

We're going to stop taking entries at 8pm EST when the awards start, so make sure your picks are in by then. Once the show is over at 10pm EST, we'll be going through your picks to find a winner, so please, please, please make it easier on me and be around until then.

Hello. I'm Joey from Piki Geek dot com.

This morning, we convinced the bosses that we should do some sort of promo/contest for tonight's liveblog of the Video Game Awards on Spike, so here we are. It's not much, but we've got two prizes to give away. I'm not supposed to say what they are (I guess I can now that I did yesterday), but you guys have saved me more money in two years than what's in my bank account now, so... it's the winner's choice of either 800 MS points, $9.99 PSN or a $10 game on Steam.

The two ways to win are by sending us your picks to win (and getting the most right) and for the best comment of the night. Obviously, the picks have to be in before the show starts and the best comment will be chosen after the liveblog is over.

To enter into the picks portion, e-mail your choices to my e-mail account, which is joey.pikigeek |at| gmail dot com before 8 pm EST tomorrow night. (It's my work account, so I swear not to spam anyone with anything ever. In return, I ask that no one signs me up for horse porn newsletters.)

At the end of the night, we're going to use the liveblog to contact the winners and give them their choice of prize, so if you're interested, be around. I'm going to update this post tomorrow at around 7pm EST with the link to the liveblog or you can just check the site out around then. Again, we're over at Piki Geek dot com.

I know we can't offer a whole lot, as this whole thing is new and crazy for us, but I'm hoping this will work out well. (Thus giving us ammo to use against the bosses for more giveaways in the future.)

By the way, this is my personal account. I know that account is new, but I've been lurking around here for a long while.

Right now, this is the best idea I've got for repaying the CAG community for all the great deals I've seen.

Thank you!
Good luck to all of you.

Also, to whoever asked in an e-mail, I'm cool with waiting until a Steam sale to gift you the game you want. I don't know what my bosses will say about that, but hey, what the hell's the point of this contest if you're not getting something cool?

What...you don't like horse porn?

I'm about to send in my email, I'm having a tough time picking on some of the categories.

Thanks for the contest!

Just to remind everyone, we'll be announcing the winner in the liveblog after the last award is given.

We're setting up everything now, so I'll be back in a half hour with the link to the liveblog!

And again, thank you all for participating.

Updated the first post with the link to the liveblog.
We're starting at 7:30 PM EST, but the VGAs are 8 PM EST to 10 PM EST.

That was very entertaining fellas, thanks again for the laughs and fun time.

Keep us informed when another liveblog is planned, although I'll be checking in every now and then.

Yeah, Josh and I had a lot of fun. I don't know how well we're going to sell this idea to the bosses, but we both really hope we can do another sometime soon.

Also, to all the CAGs that entered the contest, we're going to tally up the results as soon as Spike gets up a solid list of winners. Should be seeing the results e-mail going out tomorrow, Monday at the latest.

However, one of our own here won the prize for top commenter, so to Jabrim: we thank you, sir. I'm going to e-mail you about your prize right now and hopefully, we'll see you around the site for the next big event we've got going.

Thanks, guys and gals. We had an awesome night, no thanks to the VGAs.
Fun time tonight, I was George btw. I totally forgot about "best commenter" prize, but grats Jabrim. ;D
Lmao! you were George?! haha, that puts a smile on my face... feels like I know you ever since the whole burger king 360 giveaway! on CAG and SD, you are racking up on 360's dude! Congrats

and your comment about Kanye was hilarious!

If we had more to give away, I would have given everyone something. We're trying to get the site out there, but we're on a tight leash right now. As you can see, we love interacting with anyone who loves anything geeky, but it's hard to explain that sort of stuff to anyone in charge of the business. Hopefully, we'll start doing the numbers we need to do more and more of these giveaways and get people some great prizes. (As a CAG myself, I know that it's rare you get cool, free stuff just for being you and I want to change that.)

Either way, I hope everyone had a lot of fun and hey, maybe we can do it again soon.

Thanks, dude. I know that not everyone would agree with me, but every person matters. I didn't get into writing because I wanted to sell video games. I actually want to meet some awesome people and connect with them in some way. Tonight, I got to do that. So, to me, big success.

Definitely try to get another one of those set up if possible, even without a prize, just chatting away with fellow gamers and crackin' jokes makes for an awesome time. :bouncy:

Yeah thanks guys, I also have the site bookmarked so I will check it probably as often as I check CAG which is quite often. If there is another one of these and provided I have the time I will be there, prizes or no prizes, was fun, again, not the award show but the chat...the award show was vagtastic. :applause:

I wish I was there for the whole thing, but atleast I caught some of it! I hope you guys are still going strong 2 years from now so I can actually chill with you guys online at the right time. Being a gamer here sucks :(
