Pikman 2 scores 9.3/10 from IGN

Piklopedia is gonna keep me busy, I'm a sucker for things like that, and the fact that I wanted more time to explore and take my Pikmin on killing sprees in the first.

Ive been wanting to get Pikmin for awhile now. Do you think I should pick up Pikmin cheap now, or just wait a long time until Pikmin 2 drops to a cheapass price?

Pikmin 2 will be a reliever for me because I hated that 30-day limit on the first one. I wanted to explore all the areas carefully and get lots of Pikmin, but I had to rush through the game.

Holy crap!! He's actually recommending a game!

Okay, who hacked into his account?

The first one was great, and I look forward to a less restrictive goal system on the second. As Moxio said, it will be nice to take my time and explore too.

Really liked the first one but like everyone else I didn't like the time limits. I like to explore games and the time limit in the first prohibited that so I am glad to see it removed.

I really want to pick this up but I will have to find a good cheapass way of getting it to justify picking it up when I have so many other unplayed games. I doubt we will see it drop in price any time soon since its a Nintendo developed game.

I bought the original at launch and traded it soon after. I regretted getting rid of it, but found it again at the CC gangbang for $5...

This review, however...wow...but like a lot of the others, I'm unfortunately going to have to wait until this gets ubercheap.

I never understood the problem people had with the time limit. It was integral to the way they constructed the first game.

The time limit just made the first game short. Still crazy fun though. Pikmin 2 is looking awesome though I'm jumping on the same "wait till the price drops" bandwagon. Maybe I'll just go play Lemmings for now...

I'm hoping Fry's will have it for $34.99-$39.99...or less, even. I get waaaaay too impatient when it comes to ( most ) Nintendo brand games: i won't wait around for Pikmin 2 to be become a GH; i have to get it on the release date. 'Been hyped about it's release since E3 2003!

............Just one more week!

btw, did you guys see those ulta-cute pikmin plush dolls on eBay??????

I bought my dad the first one figuring he'd be into that kind of game, and apparently he devoured it. Must've played through it 3 times or more, which is rare for him to do these days. I missed most of the game though, since I live at my own apt. So... pikmin 2... is it better to give or receive? Hmm...

Though I really enjoyed the first one, I'm still not sure how I felt about the time limit. I wanted to play the game so much more, but as someone already said... the limit was important to the mechanics of the game.

I'm interested to see how they add a sense of urgency to the next one while scrapping the 30 day limit.

They should have included a "free-play" mode, which you unlocked after playing through once.

That way, you experience the game the way it was meant to be played and then have the opportunity to go back to previous areas and explore or build up an army of Pikmin.

I think the urgency is still there because you still have a night/day cycle and all Pikmin must be in their onions at nightfall or they die. This is the only real sense of urgency I felt during the first game because 30 days was more than enough time to collect all 30 pieces...
