If you owned POFC: COTBP then you must call Disney CS to get your replacement for Free by calling 1-800-723-4763 (US) or 1-800-877-2843 (CAN). Give them your contact information and your shipping address along with your stock 5 digit number: 53455. Even if you don't owned then that might be tricky, lol! You don't need to return back the error disc. Just keep them or blend it for yourself. Anyway, you'll get your replacement within 5-10 business days! Happy Holiday!

I received the disk within a week after calling them. I just received an envelope with a return label 3 weeks after (today). The new and old disc have no difference at all in terms of numbers on the label. My original package was in a slip case with the same UPC as the person above who got it from TRU.

From what I have seen so far, there is no way to tell the difference except by watching the movie.

I just managed to get someone over at Disney on the line to get my copy switched out just now. I asked her about this new policy of sending a prepaid envelope to you to get your first disc and she told me this is a directive that just came down last week. Not all that helpful in the fight, but there you go.

ok i just watched that scene where Jack and Will fight in the barn. mine's cut off. so i got the bad version that i just got yesterday from the "5 free blurays by mail" offer.

What exact chapter is that so I can easily check mine? Thanks.

I just got my copy of pirates 1 from the Toys R US BOGO deal, and it is the fixed version, nothing to mail out for me. Anyone who wants a good copy could try getting them from Toys R Us, must be a newer production batch or something...

if i remember correctly, its on chapter 3 around 25mins in.

I didn't even know that this problems existed until recently I just got the 3rd film on blu ray and was gonna watch them all in a row, but was browsing though here and noticed it...... Went to watch and low and behold if everyones heads were cut off :( O well, sent the email, but I haven't heard anything back and its been like 3 days... do they respond to the email at all ? or do they just send the disk out ?

Thx for posting this btw !

For people who have to send the disc back to you get some sort of sleeve to send it in? All they sent me was a form and a label and it says on the form to sent the case back as well. The form I got is specified for Pirates of the Caribbean. On the phone they told me just to send the disc back.

Speaking from experience with past replacement programs, send only the disc back. They'll send you replacement disc only, so you'll need your case.

With sony's replacement for "The Fifth Element" They asked for the disk and I got a whole new shrink wrapped case. So now i have an empty case.:applause:

Finally received a reply email after 3 weeks. Their email does state to send the disc only, no packaging. Now I just have to wait for their prepaid label to arrive.

I received the form and the label. The form and the label's addresses are different. It's similar though. The form says DVD. How should i send this? Put the bluray in an padded envelope and put the label on it? So I just need to drop it in the mailbox and thats it?

so this is still a problem? i am probably going to buy one this week... but hope i don't get the out of frame one.

Has anybody who had to send in their original copy received their replacement disk back yet? I sent in around 1/10/08 if that helps.

I just filled out the form threw the disc in a used jewel case fired it in a used padded envelope sealed it up and put the shipping label on it and took it to the post office and handed to the lady.

I cant believe I just got an email that stated they are going to ship out a return mail label. I emailed them about 3 weeks ago. This is going to take forever.

Yeah I did. I got mine back rather quickly. It only took a week or so.

I called the number and yelled at the supervisor, but they still wouldn't send me the disc without me sending in my old copy first. This process they have going on right now is completely ridiculous. I'll just stick to watching Will with a cut-off head.

I got my disc back rather quick. I mean unless you have to watch Pirates every day I don't see the big deal in waiting to get a new disc that is fixed.

is that the only problem? half of will's head cut off? if its only that part, i probably wont bother sending it in.

so they sent me a label to send it back but im still unsure as to how to send it.

i wish they would of sent an envelope or something that would of actually house the disc a la netflix or something

Unless you are doing careful observation with the wrong framing up on another monitor, you don't really notice the incorrect framing. The parts move by fast and most people will never notice it when it comes to casual viewing. I have both versions of the disc and wouldn't have noticed the difference until forums posted the error.

I got the same thing, and I filled out the info on the paper, and I am just gonna send it in a padded envelope, and take it to the post office tomrrow.

But I did take pictures of the UPC and the Boxing, and the Blu ray's themselves just in case.

*** edit *** Actually im confused... how do I mail this ? do I tape that pre paid lable to the front of a padded evnvelope, as well as put the adddress on the front, they gave to us on the paper ? I don't know what to do now.

The address on the paper and the shipping label are diffrent, the zip code is off by one number.... wtf seriously, they screw everyone over the first time, how can they screw this up as well ?

I'm also waiting on the answer to this. Label in hand, padded envelope filled with the blu-ray in a sleeve, cursing at Disney tech support in my head.............

Well the last email I got said to reply " with history " if I have any further questions so..... I e-mailed them, but who knows how long they are gonna take to respond. I am at the point where I am about to just go and buy another copy of the movie, and give up on this crap.

This is some pretty bad customer service on the part of disney. To inconvienence your customers, and then do it again, to make up for the mistake you they made in the first place.... pretty bad.

Has anybody tried calling 1-800-723-4763 instead of waiting and waiting on an email reply? This umber is listed on th Disney Movie Rewards points card from one of the Blu-ray movies.

I put the stick-on mailing label on the outside of a cardboard mailer, and included the paper they sent to fill out inside with the disc. It took almost 3 weeks from the time I put the old disc in the mail until I got the replacement disc back. It was disc-only in a paper sleeve, so definitely don't send the case and insert with your old disc. The fill-out form says to send everything; ignore that. The discrepancy between the email they send and the form does make it somewhat confusing, not to mention the different addresses.

I would just take and place the disc in a bubble mailer, put the paper in with it, then attach the business reply to the outside of the thing, and send it

the zip codes, both belong to the NeeNah Wisconsin, so it'll get there. the BR label also has the other zip on it as well

I'm glad I got mine done early, where all I had to do was call in, and got to keep my old disc

Thank you very much for responding !!!!!

I was pre-paired to wait like 2 weeks just to hear back from there e-mail :(

Ill be putting in the mail tomrrow. THX !

From the time i sent my disc in to the time i got it back, it was only a matter of 7 days. I don't know why it took so little time for me compared to some people on this site.

But by the way, just call the 800 number to get faster service. THey do have a warning when you call to send an email, but just play dumb and they will be more than happy to take down your information.

I finally received my replacement yesterday in the mail. From my mailing of the defective disc to receipt of the replacement, took about 2 weeks.

I have to give them a HUGE thumbs up for their replacement process. I live in Japan and went back home for Thanksgiving. I got 10 blu-ray movies free with the PS3 I bought.
Then, I heard about this situation and popped in the movie to check it out. When I saw the "rafter sword fight" and could see the ground 2 feet below them I knew I had to try to get it replaced.
I sent off an email about the situation and said I could ship the disc back to the US but I was hoping there was another way and they mailed me the next day, asked if I had a US address so I gave them my parents. 9 days later my parents mailed me that I had received a new disk in the mail and shipped it on to me here.
It's the best customer service I have had in years!

Well it's frustrating that I haven't received my replacement yet after over a month, has anyone else experienced this? Should I be calling them?

So, I just today received my copy of PotC: CotBP from the BluRaySavings promo deal. At what point did Disney replace disks in new shipments? I've watched through the fight in the blacksmith shop and didn't notice a problem. Are there any other scenes that also exhibit the problem or am I good to go?
