Place to buy cheap manga and comics?

CAGiversary!
I enjoy reading both Manga and comics alike but when it runs me $160 to buy an entire manga series $30 for a comic event and much more buying issues monthly it adds up. Picking up a deal in any form is good and even used books are alright as long as they are in decent condition.

Midtown comics offers about 15% off retail so not too bad there. However, buying used manga would be great for my wallet. I would buy off marketplace but shipping tends to kill any deals that are found.

Anyone know of any places that offer good used prices and reasonable shipping?

I've been using Mailordercomics.com for almost a year. Standard discount on Marvel and DC is 38% on comics. Everything else is 20 to 38%. You do have to preorder 2 months in advance though. They use the Previews books which you can also buy manga and pretty much anything comic related.

This site looks fantastic. Is there any way to subscribe so I don't have to remember to pre-order monthly? Some really good prices here. Thanks a ton.

eBay.

I picked up 8 volumes of one series for $25 shipped (mint condition) recently and usually don't pay more than $4 shipped per book.

I know it totally depends on where you live but try your library. For me personally I almost never read anything twice. 4 kids and wife with 12 hour job just doesnt leave lots of free time. my library will order almost anything you ask. I had them order them order all 11 tpb's of Powers by Bendis as well as his run of daredevil. Also had them order The Walking Dead tpb's 1-8 and the Suikoden manga books 1-11. I am not sure of the total value of all that there but I think I could safely say it was in excess of $500. Hint: make friends there. From what I have been told they usually order what they want and if they cant think of anything else they just order the "top books" from various lists. Like there is typically plenty of money and they just don't know what to spend it on. My library also sells tons of comics and manga after they gave been out for awhile .10-2.00

Good luck and give it a try if you have never thought of it.
You have a pull list that will automatically add anything to your order for that month, but if you want to put more stuff on it, you have to go through the catalog.
AH, ok I see now. One more question the deadline for april is the 29th so will I be charged for June's comics at the end of April?
Even so the savings is worth it. I saw Son of Hulk on there for $.75! What a steal.

I'll look into that too floormat.

This. I work at a public library and our district is ALWAYS ordering new manga and comics that you can checkout for free. Plus if they have used bookstore, you might find old manga, comics, or graphic novels that have been weeded off the shelves or have been donated by library patrons for sale for obscenely low prices. For example, I got volumes 1-4 of Shaman King that had been only read once by a patron and donated, sold for 25 cents each. Yes, a quarter each! YMMV
