Sitting here vacilating about whether or not to hit the "buy" button for the five Bit Generations games under $15. Gah....Need money, but want games!
Ordered DJ Max 2! Thanks
DJ Max Portable 2 is fan-freaking-tastic. I bought it about a month or two ago and it's barely left my PSP since. I was considering buying DJMP1, since you can use the Link Disc function to actually import 1's songs into 2's gameplay engine, but I need to save money.

I did, however, use this sale as a great excuse to finally buy Soundvoyager! $14 and change shipped -- sounds perfect to me. :) I already have Orbital.

Scour the DS/GBA forum for the lengthy discussion thread about them. They're basically Atari style simple, yet very unique games. I never understood the love fest, but their fans make a potent case in the BitGen thread. I like to think that between me and the rest of the doods over there we have a lively discussion. Don't take my opinions as gospel though: The sheer amount of fanboyishness over these cannot possibly occur without a good reason. Just because I don't see it doesn't mean it ain't there.
God damnit, Rhythm Tengoku =of course= isn't part of the deal :/. Not paying $40 for it! :(
This is the first game I always search on when there is a PA sale. It always seems that this game doesn't ship within 24 hours during the sale. I want this game badly. I almost scored it off eBay for $25 but got sniped at the last minute. Probably a blessing because I most likely would have ended up with a bootleg anyway.

geez -_- I try to save money and now I'm looking down the barrel of a loaded Parodius and Twinbee portable.
whats the difference between DJ MAX Portable 2 Black version and Silver version?
those are the limited edition versions of the games.

they come with a different set of postcards and a different puzzle.

Its a little bigger box than usual for jpn gc games since the puzzle collection comes with the gc to gba link cord included if i am not mistaken.
Nope, it doesn't look like it. It's actually cheaper to order them together than separate.

Jesus, how big is Nintendo Puzzle Collection? It defaults to the economy box. :whistle2:s

Can I use a coupon with this? I have a $10 off $50 coupon, but I see no place to put it.
See

Is it me...or has the $5 off $50 coupon code section vanished?
No coupons on sale items.
What really sucks is the fact even if you add a non sale item to your cart (like a non-qualifying game) you still can't use a coupon. :whistle2:x

Ah, I was waiting for this sale or something like it! Picked up Dondonpachi DOJ, NGBC, and the Mushihime Futari OST. Too bad there's no contest like last year though.

It's a wonderful game. Can get hard if you know no Japanese (like me) but it was worth fucking around with it.

Ack, I defininetly have to order Jump Ultimate Stars, but then I thought about getting Bleach the 2nd along with it. However, I realized Legend of Stafi 4 is just too good to pass up for $24, so I should just drop Bleach the 2nd for now. Ah... the decisions.

Questions though; for the shipping of 2 DS games, would they combine them, and only charge $2.60, or double the cost, for $5.20? And I saw GS4 for $103 after the 20% off, what makes that so special? (seen here: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-en-70-1t87.html)
Headphones, DVD, and GS Encyclopedia. Only in Japanese.
Oooh, thanks. Too bad GS4 the game itself doesn't have an English option. Eh, wouldn't pay $103 for it anyway.

It's a good game, but my biggest beef with it is that it's too easy. Just when I thought it would get really hard, it ended.

On the one hand, any music/rhythm game fan will find a lot to love. But on the other, unless you've got two left thumbs, you'll run out of game and challenge long before you're ready.

If you have a DS, you'll get much more value from your money with either Ouendan or Daigasso.

Note that there are some Japanese GC games which, while they play fine, do not save properly when booted with Freeloader. For example, Donkey Konga 3, much to my chagrin. I can launch the game and play everything, but every time it starts up it asks if I want to create a new save (or perhaps its asking if I want to format the card - I'm not sure). Regardless of what you pick, you also end up with no coins collected at every power up. That means you can't really unlock anything. Your stuck with the defaults. My understanding, though, is that this isn't the case for many Japanese games and in fact I can tell you that it isn't a problem for Kururin Squash. So, I can't recommend buying Donkey Konga 3 (and probably not DK1 or 2) unless you've got a real Japanese GC or one with a physical region switch - I wish I were skilled enoug to install one myself (too dang tiny!)

That might be a problem with the GC memory cards. See, when a game formats a GC memory card it makes it so that only that region games can save on that card (without reformatting). What people who play alot of JP GC games have to do is keep their saves on separate cards (one for US, one for JP).

Kuru Kuru Kururin (Japan, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 10.92 US$ 10.92
Kururin Squash (Japan, NTSC J) 1 US$ 14.92 US$ 14.92
Cotton Boomerang [pre-owned] (Japan, NTSC J) 1 US$ 55.92 US$ 55.92
Kuru Kururin Paradise (Japan, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 11.92 US$ 11.92
Mr. Driller Drill Land (Japan, NTSC J) 1 US$ 15.92 US$ 15.92

Sum US$ 109.60
Shipping US$ 14.60
Total US$ 124.20

Yay! Thanks, OP! :D

Yes, that's true, but it isn't the case for DK3. The card was a fresh, unused card I specifically got for Japanese games and, as far as I can tell, DK3 offered to and did format the card. It certainly offers to do something and in fact it creates a file on the card during this process. You can see it in the memory card browser, though the name of the file is gibberish. Also, the same card works fine for Kururin Squash. Lastly, the English translation of the DK3 menus I found on the net mentions specifically that when booted with Freeloader, DK3 doesn't support saves. I hadn't seen that, of course, prior to buying DK3.

im tempted at getting a djmax Limited edition package, but its a big price.. If I get tired of the game, will I get my money back if I put it on ebay?

I just went to check out with 2 DS games and it shows shipping as $4.60.

A note, Playasia allows you to choose shipping on step 2 of checkout, before adding any payment info. So you can begin the checkout process just to check shipping. I do that all the time.

When they show you the shipping cost, its just the cost of the cheapest way to ship that item alone. Sometimes, adding stuff = less overall shipping, and at the very least for me sometimes, I got a free bump from a bubble mailer to a box. :D

Should also be noted that if you try to save Donkey Konga 3 on a memory card currently being used, you have a good chance of wiping everything on it except DK3. Regardless of how many times you save, nothing will actually save except a system file. Doesn't matter what version of FreeLoader you use, either.

Just ordered Nintendo Puzzle Collection, Dialhex and JSS.

I wanted to get the play stand but it went from in stock to waiting. :bomb:

Either the OP or a mod should add the coupon information to the OP- no one seems to read beyond the first post, if that.

You can choose it as a payment option. If you want to use some of it, just select the main method you'll be using to pay, scroll down to the affiliate payment portion and type in how much you're gonna use. The final confirmation page before being submitted will show you how much it'll cost with the affiliation payment added.

I got the Xbox 360 VGA cables (with Optical Output) as well as X-Joybox (so I can finally play a decent game of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Xbox).

Would I have any problems plugging a Japanese PS2 in an American home? Thats been my main concern about ordering one.

Damn it, if it wasn't for that freaking 30 day rule I'd be all over the Asian versions of Dirt, Overlord, and maybe Call of Juarez too.

I ordered Densetsu no Stafi 4 for the DS, $23.92 is a really good deal for it. I was going to order it in a week or so but I can't pass up on that.

As for shipping, I never use bubble mailer. My games will come in bits and pieces by the time they arrive. The extra $1 for a box is worth it IMHO.
