Playing Import games on the PS3

So I was looking around at Demon's Souls.

This game looks great to me. (Heard/read mixed reviews so far)
It's an action RPG with from what I've read alot of challenge (Some go as far as to say you die cheaply A LOT.) Any way, I was going to be impatient and order the asian copy off ebay or some other importing site. Since it's not region encoded and everything i've seen says it has english/chinese text/voices ect.

Is this common for all PS3 games are there a lot that don't have region encoding and have both english/chinese/whatever other languange in them?

So anyone recommend some good sites to order imports off of specially ones that tell if the game is in english also?
 
As far as I know, both play-asia and NCSX will show if the game is in English. I've ordered from both on various occasions and everything worked well with them.

Not sure if you know this yet but Demon's Souls is being released in the US in early October so you might want to get it from here rather than importing it.
 
I wouldn't waste my time with the import version at this point. US servers > Laggy asian servers. Plus I'll take my Deluxe edition over the import any day.

It should also be noted that DLC is region specific (US Game needs US DLC). This might become an issue if you don't have an easy way of funding a japanese PSN account.

Most people that import try to stick to mostly offline games with no DLC- like the first Uncharted.

does anyone know how the trophies react in this case? If you compare records with someone using an import copy of a game- do the games match up? Or does the system recognize them as 2 different titles?
 
If you want to import PS3 games and still want them in English, most of the time the Asian version of games do come with full English support (Text and Voices sometimes).
