playstation 1 games

Most PS One RPGS will always have decent value.

Yep, I got in between $30 - $35 for a ton of PS1 RPG's this weekend on Ebay.

Even some regular games hold their value really well, like Einhander.

Yep.

Einhander and Intelligent Qube two notable non-RPGs that have good value.

Too bad I missed your sales Roufuss.

As others have said, popular RPGs and certain other games (Castlevania:SOTN, Elemental Gearbolt) are pretty much going to keep their value at this point barring unlikely reprints. However, most PlayStation games are not worth much at all.

The sheer abundance of most titles is what drags the prices down. Suikoden is still pretty expensive, and some random games fetch $80. The long box game Return Fire was up to $75 on ebay a few months ago.

Why do people insist on using Ebay as a means to determine value? Subtract 80% on what it goes for on Ebay for its true worth.

Well, better to say people shouldn't point to the highest a game went for on eBay as an indication of its value. Just because one idiot pays $80 for something everyone else pays $25 for doesn't mean it's worth $80. But if you look at median prices on eBay it's not a bad measurement for most games. Some are only sold occassionally so it's difficult to say for those, but more commonly sold games should fetch a reasonable median price.

And as always, something's worth is however much you can sell it for, including eBay.

That's what I was thinking, but I was too lazy to type all that out. In any case, nothing irks me more than to offer a price for a game on our trade list only to have the reply start with "On Ebay..."

Fair enough, since most of the time they only mention the highest ending auction. Yes, on eBay that game did once go for $200, but the lowest was $35 and the median $50, so...
