Playstation 2 Wireless Fighting Stick White

It's a shame this isn't for 360 and PS3...

Either way, I'll go ahead and ask if any of the stick experts here know how good this stick is stock.

Any lag because of the wireless?

What shape is the joystick mechanism? [square or round]

How are the buttons?

I have this. I bought it at GS awhile ago for $20. It works for PS2 & Xbox. There's no lag and the shape of the joystick is round. The buttons push down smoothly. Overall a great buy. Needs 3 AAA batteries but other than that no problems what so ever.

So you opened it up and it's round, not square?

If what I'm getting is right it is round. What do you mean by round or square though?!

The connector inside the joystick..it can be square or circle...one is four point and one is eight..I've held off from buying a joystick because it's so CONFUSING as to which stick is worth buying [and most the cheap sticks or not]

Games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, don't do well with the 4 point movements.

ya, wondering if this is round or square. does it look like what it looks like in the picture of the ad? hope its good quality, so waiting of on people's reviews on this stick.

I actually had this stick for a long time. "Had" being the keyword. I used it maybe two times in about a year mainly because it is very cheap. Nothing on this is "authentic" or real arcade components so don't expect it to recreate the feel...this is what bothered me most. I immediately felt that it would be better to play my SHMUPS or fighting games with a regular controller.

It definetely has a nice look. The all white casing and buttons look very nice. Unfortunately that's all I can really say for it.

Put simply...it's a working controller but nothing more. If you want something that looks cool and doesn't improve your gameplay experience then this is a good buy at $20.

If your looking for something that does a decent job bringing the arcade to your house you might want to pick up the HORI Tekken 5 stick. (This is about as good as it gets for retail...though still not as good as a custom MASS stick. None the less its leaps over the Naki wireless)

Also..it does look like the picture on Amazon..it has a square top and slightly rounded bottom...it is made out of plastics...no wood, metal etc..

Gah.. the though just crossed my mind to make a wireless two-player stand for PS2/Xbox using wireless controllers instead of wired. I doubt it would be all that complicated..

If this thing can be modded, it is worth $20. I would have to take one apart to be able to tell. Sure it won't be a MAS stick, but it is a hella lot cheaper.

are u sure you are not talking about a P360??

I have no idea what that 8 way actuator is, but your 2nd link reaffirms what I just said.

anyway, there are no 8 way digital inputs, only 4 way,

and you get diagonal input when u hit 2 directions at once.

also for that price, I am sure that stick is digital and therefore cannot be modded with the p360.

actually, I do not even know how to make a custom stick with a p360 (do u wire it to the analog control??)

edit: ah, I think I kno what the diff between 8 and 4 way is.

4 way can only hit the up, down, left, or right switches.

8 way allows u to hit 2 switches at a time, thus registering diagonal inputs.

anyway, I think sanwa is the popular arcade part provider for custom sticks,

but my custom has happs parts, which I recommend the super or the competition stick (both 8-point)

Save your money guys and buy the Tekken 5 stick. So many arcade sticks out there are absolute shit; this one is no different.

That stick is utterly Craptacular. Ive played with it in store, and its garbage. Dont be fooled by the nice white look of it, its shit.

And to explain 'Square' vs. 'Round' (really Octaganol) theory to the uninitiated.

You cant 'see' if a joystick has a square or round gate, but you can 'feel' it.

In the housing of the joystick, under the fiberboard box where the stick is mounted, theres a restrictor plate that limits the range of movement of the joystick. On most joysticks this plate is a square hole. When you move the joystick around you can feel this. On a square gate stick you can feel the joystick hit the diagonal corners of the square. On an octagonal gate stick, its much smoother to spin the stick around in circles as there are 8 points that the stick can hit. Think of a hole under the shaft of the joystick thats either in the shape of a square, or a stopsign.

What the hells the difference? Its mostly fighting game style preference.

Square gates make it much easier to hit Dragonpunch type moves, and round gate makes it easier to make half circle and full cirlce motions.

So for SFII style gameplay, Square is good for bk-fwd charge charecters, and shotos (Ken, Ryu). While Octagonal is preferred for Zangief players.

The stick is a little too loose, the buttons are a little too firm and the analog track-balls are useless. I'm not sure its even worth $20.

This is not actually a good stick - I've read many reviews - but it's not bad for $20. It sells for $30 shipped on Ebay. One problem is the joystick sometimes loses sync with its receiver.
