CAGiversary!
First, here's my auction. PS3 with 120GB HDD installed and formatted. Free shipping for CAGs; PM me if you win. PS3 prices are dropping like a rock, so you could probably get it for less than it's worth. Ends tomorrow.

And second... you may notice that there's a 5% discount if the winner doesn't use PayPal. Basically, PayPal has been a royal pain in my rear after the last time I sold a PS3. See, someone won the auction, paid me via PayPal, and I shipped it out. That's, you know, how it should be. Then, PayPal went ahead and locked my account, which had about $1700 in it (from that and other things, of course; I didn't sell as early as perhaps I should've).
They asked me to do a bunch of things to unlock it, like confirm my phone number and send a tracking number for the package, all of which I did, except for fax them "proof of ownership of the item," which I couldn't do, because as I said, I shipped it already. I called, and the CSR said she'd make a note of that on the dispute, and it "shouldn't be a problem."
Well, I get an email a few days later from PayPal, saying that they reviewed the dispute, and decided to go ahead and keep my account locked. I called them, and asked why. They had no real answer, but said they'd email the buyer and ask if he got it, and if he said yes, it wouldn't be a problem. I asked them to send me a copy of that email, and it started...
Emphasis added. Gee, that sounds like it's just ASKING to be deleted. But no matter, I emailed the buyer and asked if he'd help me out by replying that he had in fact gotten it (as the tracking number and positive feedback showed), and he said sure. He then told me right after he did it.
Well, another week goes by, and nothing. I call PayPal again, and they deny ever having heard from him. At this point, I'm really angry (yet as civil as I can be; it's not the poor CSR's fault). I ask to speak to someone higher up who can actually DO something, and she's nice enough to give me one. The higher level person confirms some information, sees that, yes, it HAS been received AND SIGNED FOR, and decides as any human would that I did indeed complete my end of the deal, and unlocked my account.
So, it did end well, after a MONTH of back and forth, and some long, long phone calls to PayPal. Guilty even after proven innocent.
Anyway, that's my story. I look forward to Google Checkout becoming peer-to-peer, if that ever happens, since someone needs to break PayPal's virtual monopoly.
