Hello, I am planning on purchasing a PS3. I'm thinking of just waiting for a decent deal in the Amazon warehouse, but if there any other deals currently or are coming up, I would be willing to bite. Do I really need a lot of HDD space? I have a 360 and 120gb is more than enough for me. Should I wait for black friday?

It really doesn't matter what size hdd you get for it, it's really easy to install sata laptop hdds into the PS3. It doesn't void the warranty, and Sony encourages it.

What you may want to do is check for backwards compatible PS3s on Amazon, Ebay, Gamestop, etc. All PS3s will play PS1 games, but being able to play PS2 games as well is pretty cool!
