PlayStation 4 - General Discussion Thread

Still haven't played Transistor, but it was super cheap when I bought it. Dying to try Rogue Legacy, and the Yakuza games have always appeared intriguing.

Someone glued swarovski crystals on a 20th Anniversary PS4 and is trying to sell it on eBay.

Why would you do that if you're not going to keep it? Good luck trying to sell it for a decent amount now, they've pretty much taken all the value out of it.

Question for people who upgraded their harddrives how do I tell if the game save in cloud storage is newer or older than the file on local storage?  I just backed up all my gamesaves to an external harddrive and then copied that folder to my dropbox just on the odd chance i want to go back to something other than infamous or game of thrones.  Also will games that don't have any local storage just default to loading the cloud save if the cloud save exists?   Most of the ps+ games i haven't played for more than 30 minutes so it's not too big of a deal if i lose my saves.  In fact I think I would like to get a fresh start on some of them

Yea I have Premium Spotify, I use it on my phone and iPad at work and in the car daily. It will be nice to have on the PS4. I bought codes from someone in the trading forum last year for $3 each I believe. Had about 15 of them. Also I tried Music a unlimited when the PS4 first came out, it works pretty well. I'm hoping Playstation Music is similar also. Holding the PS Button would bring up a menu that you could change or pause the tracks.

So that Project Code Z was revealed. And Square did what they always do. Let people get hyped so they can laugh as those hypes crumble:

I must say, The Order is starting to look very good. DualShockers releases some more info from an interview with someone close to the game. I was kinda worried about it, but that worry has turned into excitement!

Some new TR info from the Game informer issue taken from gaf.

- At least two different locations across the globe.
- Jonah is back from the first game
- Environment itself as the main antagonist.
- Cloth and herb to heal wounds.
- More than one of each weapon type.
- Variety of bows with different attributes.
- Weather system that animals and human enemies react to.
- Not sure if they confirmed a day night cycle or not, they mentioned "animals reacting to" time of day.
- Hub areas are two to three times bigger than previous game.
- Lara can climb trees, hide in bushes, swim.
- Pushing for pre planning aspect to engaging in combat, though sneaking past everyone isnt the goal.
- Tools for distracting enemies and luring them where you want them.
- You can lose the enemies after engaging them.
- Game informer says combat reminds them of the Last of Us.
- CD talks about doing more with tombs and puzzles this time around.

Also there's a PS4 devkit in the vid.

I cant wait for this game, Im trying to go on a media blackout form here until release but its hard lol 17 more days!!! :whee:

play through your games. It will likely get cheap soon. It was $20 with the season pass glitch on gamestop but thats over so id personally wait

Dying Light is fun for a while but can get a lil repetitive, I would wait for a sale if you have that many games to play.

Interesting that the gameplay reminds them of TLOU.

Anyone know when the reviews will be released? Im still expecting 7-8's.
I think the day before release, Im getting it regardless of the scores.

I still haven't gotten more than an hour into far cry 4 or started destiny. I just ordered wolfenstein this morning. I only played one level of mordor so far as well. Just in the mood to play games that cut right to the fun parts like sports and racing games lately. Need to sit down and play some of this stuff soon

While I'm sure it will come to the PlayStation 4 at some point I wouldn't read too much into that picture. Don't forget that they also did a port of the last game to the PlayStation 4 so it could have been a dev system from that.

Ps4 may be more powerful but honestly I've stopped caring. If they ps4 copy is sold out I'll buy the xbox version. I prefer the ps4 because of shorter install times and the dedicated share button but, if i don't intend on sharing stuff I don't really care. I'll say september for ps4 version though. I just preordered both Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4 because I love those games and that bear cover of game informer has got me pumped.

I'm in the same boat with you, my last part was more sarcasm. I just want good games that work. THEY MUST FUNCTION WHEN I BUY THEM.

Just upgraded my ps4 HD to 2tb using the seagate expansion. Yeah I'm pretty sure my warranty on that is toast. On a plus side though I managed to keep the connector in shape. Don't be stupid and do what I did try to jam it into your ps4 with the usb adaptor still attached and wonder why it's not working. I had accidently separated the usb adapter into 2 pieces rather then comepletely removing it. Hopefully I never have to rma this thing. Oh and is it normal for ps4 fan to run in rest mode? Never noticed before new harddrive

Questions:

1. I'll have 25Mbps down and 2Mbps upload speed soon, is this good enough to stream PS4 games? (I live in a rural area so it's the highest speed here.) I'd imagine it's not recommended but I'm trying to figure what quality it might show on stream, and if it stutters.

2. Also do you need anything other than a PS4 account and YouTube/Twitch account?

That will be way more than enough. My friend has like 5 down and it's great quality.

I have like 7.5-8 and it works fine. I am 2 feet from the modem and hard wired though

Frag is right, 25 down is actually pretty great when compared to the rest of the country. Your up speed isn't so great, however but you should be just fine for streaming.

Anyone know how important those harddrive grommets are?  I lost a couple of them and i'm not sure if i should bother replacing them. Also do they go inside the harddrive cage or outside?  I don't even remember

Both are actually great numbers and you shouldn't experience any lag for any online gaming from your end. Some lag is dependent ont he person you are connected to, and as for remote play, as long as you aren't far away you will be fine. I average 10MBPS down and 800KBPS up and have no problems, so you are in great shape.

The Hardline Beta is pretty fun, I'll definitely be picking it up. It sucks that its only 900p though.
I don't know anything about game development, but just going on looks, there's like no reason this game shouldn't be running 1080P/60FPS across the board.

BF4 even looks better.

Whats a good controller charging station for PS4?
Whats a good controller charging station for PS4?
I use the Nyko Modular Charging Station, I think. It's sweet. It actually connects to the ps4, and you just sit the controller on top. That's where I keep my controller anyways, so it was a perfect fit.

Here's a link

It's also available in black.

I can't wait to download and play Transistor. I've wanted to play it since release but just never got around to it. Now that its free I'll definitely make time for it.

Holy crap, Rogue Legacy is amazing. I finally played it yesterday after finishing a Resident Evil session. If I had any clue about this game I would have bought it already. I can see how I overlooked it. It came out the same day as The Last of Us: Remastered. For a month The Last of Us is all I played, then for the next two months all I played was Persona 4 Golden.

PS+ is awesome.

Glad you're enjoying it. I always expected I would, but I waited for no real reason. The game has lived up to my lofty expectations thus far.

The only boss I've beaten is the eye in the first area.

Resident Evil is still getting most of my playing time. I beat it with Jill and Chris, and I just finished my knife-only run (on very easy for that one). Next I'll go for the no-save trophy, and then the under three hours trophy. After four playthroughs I'm sure I'll know a fast enough route to beat the game that quickly. My knife run was four hours without trying that hard.

Do you think there's gonna be a Uncharted 1-3 remaster?  I just ordered a ps3 and all the uncharted game but, i've beaten all of them but 1 and would rather just wait if there is gonna be a remake.
