I'm not surprised a bundle that is exclusive to Gamestop is beating out a bundle that is available everywhere (on Amazon, titanfall is 7th, the bundle is 14th, and Infamous game is 18th).

That article is just click-bait.

I mean they could bundle Knack with the PS4 and as long as it was readily available I would expect it to outsell the Titanfall bundle.


Edit: The article is comparing bundle sales... not straight Infamous vs Titanfall sales right? If so then I would certainly expect Titanfall to outsell infamous

Your edit makes it seem like you may be correcting yourself here but if not, just for the sake of argument yes I do think X1 bundle sales would outpace PS4 bundle sales.

Due to the components included, the biggest difference is obviously price. The $500 X1 bundle gives you Titanfall on top of the console. The new IP should speak for itself. The savings is the digital copy of the game and you're getting a true bundle discount. $570 PS4 bundle gives you inFamous, a second controller, and a PS+ membership on top of the console. Although you're getting an extra controller with a subscription service, when you compare the bundles you still pay an extra $70 for a bundle that I think is less appealing due to being forced into buying the extra accessory and subscription card. Although many people like having a second controller, it's not for everyone. The disappointing thing is that there isn't any savings like there usually is for a bundle.

If I was going to market the PS4 bundle, I would have included some small bundle discount and removed the PS+ component at a very minimum. inFamous is not a multiplayer game so it seems odd to include the PS+ card. Bringing the cost of the bundle closer to $500 with a controller to boot would have offered a better value in terms of a strict gamer bundle.

It does make it complicated to compare however since the PS4 is still dealing with a console shortage so a lot of the inFamous bundle sales are just due to the fact that it's an accessible purchase while the X1 has caught up to it's normal demand already. It's also interesting in that these are totally two different bundles competing in somewhat different spaces. inFamous is an action adventure SP campaign experience while Titanfall is going to draw in the competitive MP-only FPS crowd. It should be noted that inFamous has been a relatively smaller system seller compared to other IP's.

In the end, I still think the draw of Titanfall will be great. As to how much it moves X1 sales will be the question. The biggest hurdle will be the install base on the 360 system itself as I expect it to cannibalize a good portion of next gen sales. It benefits from another factor as well: timing. There is not much in terms of FPS games out there right now and nothing on the horizon for months.
 
I think including PS+ is a good idea as it's the single best thing about Sony's platforms right now IMO. I play so many games I never would have bought on my own that I ended up loving. Hell it made me pick up a vita just because I had so many PS+ games I wanted to play. So the more people they get on PS+ the more people they can convert into loyal Sony fans. I have no interest in going next gen anytime soon due to my growing backlog of PS3 and Vita games from PS+ When I do it will be a PS4 as I'll have a bunch of PS+ stuff on my account to play from "buying" all the PS4 stuff between now and then. So PS+ is a powerful tool for building brand loyalty.

There probably should be some discount though. But then again they can't keep stock in shelves so they really have no reason to not sell it at full price.

The second controller is nice to have even for single player gamers just to hagan back up since the DS4 battery life is so poor, though again some discount would be nice.

yeah kind if sad about the bundle. Was waiting to get ps4 for the second son bundle since it was announced. I already have 4 years of plus on my account and no giant need for 2nd controller. My only hope right now is that gamestop gets systems in stock near launch of the game so i can get it on time.

That's insane, I remember when they said they wanted to sell 5 million PS4's by March and I didn't think they would reach that number. Not only did they do it, they surpassed it by 1 million. Congrats Sony, hopefully with Second Son coming out soon they can keep the momentum going.

If developers can get the cost of development under control there will be plenty of games. The indie games are going to be a bigger factor this gen IMO.

I'm not shocked by this. Sony can't get the system in stock on the shelves so people then preorder. I think most everyone that wanted an Xbox One got one and anyone that is on the fence is saying I will walk in the store and get one on launch day.

Yep, the numbers are just phenomenal. I'm really curious to know where the Xbone stands right now. I'm guessing they're well under the 4 million mark.

After reading around a few website's xboxone sales are estimated at around 3.5m currently. Most of these sites believe that the system can sell the 500,000 this month pushing it over that 4m threshold.

That trailer has me SO hyped!! I'm very happy its not cross gen, maybe we are finally done with that. No Wii U though has to be disappointing for Nintendo fans.

Same here I think it really depends on how many bundles they sell because I'm finally taking the plunge and I know thousands of others will do the same and I haven't heard of the bundle being sold out yet.

3.5m seems like a very good guess. MS will no doubt see a surge in March with the Titanfall bundle releasing, but with the game also coming to the PC/360 it will be interesting to see by how much.

 
You know its bad since Microsoft hasn't given an update on numbers since the end of 2013 while Sony hs given updates twice now.

If Titanfall doesn't start moving units again, im sure you are going to start seeing some better deals on the console through retailers.

Bad for Microsoft, good for gamers.

 
Arkham knight announced... Time to wait for the goty edition for this game iin 2015 so as to avoid all the milking theyll probably do with dlc.
 
Anyone else put any time into dead nation? Only played through the first 2 levels, did level one solo and the other two online co-op. 

Its actually pretty fun.

The Last of Us was deeper and a better story overall, Uncharted was getting stale and was predictable. I loved the stories, but after TLOU I need more. Druckmann and Straley will do just fine. Sony will still get a top of the industry exclusive.

 
i don't know for me i had hard time really getting into tlou story but love the uncharted story. I will admit at this point i have had my fill with zombies in the gaming industry and even tv shows/movies. I really can't wait to see what the next uncharted game holds for us.
