Playstation games online servers question

Hello. I'm an european gamer, i'm buying a PS4 but, as you guys know, here games are expensive. Games in the U.S. cost 59.99$ which is +/- 44 euros. Games here cost 69.99 euros so...

I have a way of buying U.S. PSN pre-paid cards and i have an american PSN account that, if i make my primary system account i can use the games in my real european account.

My question is, since games are region free, what factor influences the server you're online. I mean, if i get the american version of call of duty, will it connect me to North American servers or will it choose the best server for my ip? And if it connects me to an American server, will there be more lag for me, since i'll be playing in europe. Sorry if this question sounds dumb.

Thanks.

As far as I know the servers automatically find a host server that is closest to you based on your TTL or ping ratio.  I have seen that with a few games now on PS4.  But not all games are alike.  EA hosts their own servers and I can tell that in NFS Rivals, one of the consoles of the 6 person session is the server.

Thank you, that's what i wanted to know.
