I'm a pretty new PS3 owner, I've had it for roughly two months. Hearing what I have about Playstation Home I've just never had the urge to install this and see for myself what everyone has complained about. I'm wondering if there are others out there who have completely managed to ignore this feature of the PS3.

I actually just starting going back to Home after not using it for at least 6-12 months. I think it's vastly improved but still far from where it could/should be. I really like many of the areas that companies make for it. I like the EA Sports complex a lot. I play no limit poker there regularly now. Other than that I mostly play bowling too. It's a great place to join clubs and meet new people, but I haven't really done much of that. You really need a keyboard or the PS3 chatbpad to really get the most of socializing there.

Home is more for casual gamers really. People who love the Sims or Second life, etc.. Visually speaking I actually think Home looks great. The amount of customizations you can do to your body is also impressive. I'm not sure if Sony can call it a success but it certainly has become a microtransaction haven for them. You can buy your fav. teams jersey, all kinds of accessories, game related stuff, etc..

Its pretty cool in that they are constantly add something new and has alot of mini games for the themed areas. Only one I cant do is the damn spookhouse thing for siren, there is always a damn long line when I try to go through it.

But yeah I didnt use it for along time, then I did a couple times and didnt care for it. But now that they have all the ground work laid they do some cool stuff so I check it out here and there for fun.

Its a pretty neat idea that I think could be really cool if more people used it and more developers got interested in it.

I never got into it. I did like sitting down to play chess with guys but it's weird without a chat pad. It's hard to strike up a conversation.

Other than that, it's fifty guys for every girl and somedays it felt like the girls were just getting mobbed.

I bought the Slim at launch and tried out home. Meh...

I've never gone back. I could rant about why I think it sucks, but I'll be nice and just say it's not for me.

I finally got a PS3 last night (Thanks Target!). I downloaded home and wandered around the Ratchet & Clank area for a little bit. Surprisingly there were a lot of people logged in, most of them amassed around the disco ball. There was some kind of dancing game there but I guess you actually have to wait for people to finish before it's your turn. Real virtual waiting! I tried out some other games, one an artillery game and the other was hunting for sheep, both were boring. The NPC gave me a reward for the sheep game; a model of Ratchet's ship that I have no idea what to do with other than look at its name in a menu.

The few minutes I spent with it were mildly amusing. I didn't go to any of the central non-themed areas, so I will explore there later. I get the feeling once you walk around and look at everything there is little else to do besides play mini-games. I am glad to hear there is chess available.

Is Home tied to trophies in any way? Like if I get a platinum in FFXIII will I get anything special to display in my person space?

never got into it- but only played 20 minutes. waiting on line at the arcade to play mediocre games wasn't enjoyable
didn't really know what was fun to do

I guess I'm not surprised by the results, the majority of people seem to dislike home yet many people have taken the time to try it out for themselves. I think that speaks volumes about how bad it really is.

I still haven't tried it but I'm sure that eventually I'll cave in.

I've had my 60gb since launch and still haven't DL'ed it. Shows how much I care for sim games. Just like MMO's, they're useless glorified chatrooms. My PS3 is for gaming alone. They would REALLY need to offer some good rewards or physical collectables before I try it. Hell I'm even ignoring a trophy on Buzz because you have to launch a game from Home.

Like the other guy with the launch system I've had mine too since '06 and never had any interest at all in trying it....ever. Plus I don't have enough HDD space to waste on something I won't use or won't use much.

They've never given me a reason to use it and I don't see that changing in the near future.

I disagree completely with that assessment. I think a lot of people here tried out Home out of curiosity and the hype/buzz surrounding it, but I don't think most people here are even into that type of experience generally. It's like the Sims. If people here downloaded a demo of the Sims, played around with it for a bit and then never went back does that somehow speak volumes about the Sims being a terrible game? Absolutely not. it simply means it's not their cup of tea. Most gamers on here aren't the casual types that Home is clearly tailoring too.

I agree with you. I hated home and I hate the sims. I tried the original sims, when people were calling it the greatest pc game ever. The only thing I enjoyed was using a cheat to give myself unlimited money, building a huge house and locking people in different rooms and watching them piss themselves and die. The novelty lasted about 30 minutes.

I regret to say I've spent about $10 on Home... only to walk around with the stuff I just bought on my avatar, bored shitless, then leave. I actually manage to spend hours upon hours on that thing, but nothing fun ever happens. It's like I'm a masochist or something.

I actually go on Home a good amount of the time, BUT. It is very boring unless you have friends on Home.

Is it really any less boring then? Sure, you can chat but when you lack a keyboard like me that gets annoying real fast. Two people could play pool... if you can actually find an empty pool table, which you never can.

I don't think it's that bad, but it's just not nearly as fun as playing a PS3 game IMO. My time on my PS3 is limited, so I'd rather be playing a real game. Maybe if I was in college or high school and had lots of time to waste I'd be more into it, I dunno (I still kind of doubt it though).

i tried it, its extremely boring and filled with waiting. Waiting for certain parts of the area to dl and install, waiting in line to play crappy games and practically everything in there is some ad to purchase useless stuff for ur fake place. i usually just end up circling people for a good 10mins until they get extremely pissed off.

I tried it last night/this morning. YAWN!!! Borrrrrrring. Everything is waiting for shit to load or download and install.

I can't be bothered to waste more time waiting for shit to download/install than I spend messing around in there. I deleted the installed files back off my PS3. Total waste of space.

Ditto..It sucks.

I tried it for about 30 minutes, and I'm actually ashamed to admit that I gave it that long. It's pointless, boring and I was amazed that there were as many people online as there was.
