It looks like the Playstation Network has arrived on Amazon. You'll be able to download PSN games, PSP games, and PS One Classics the same way as Amazon's Xbox Live store.

Not only that but there are special offers if you buy a PS3 Slim console or PSP handheld:

- Anyone that buys a PSP-3000 handheld will receive a $15.99 credit towards a select game from Amazon's PSN store.

- Anyone that buys a PS3 Slim will receive a $9.99 credit towards a select game from Amazon's PSN store.

The offers will expire on 10/17.

Glad Amazon is providing another option for PSN purchases. Here's hoping they will have a sale this week to celebrate!
Awesome! I normally don't mind using my CC on PSN, but I've got some credit I could always use for games, so I'm glad to see that this is finally a reality. :)
Plus Amazon gets people with link ids commission (Cheapy, for instance). Buying from PSN does not.

Great point which slipped my mind and just for that I am going to use Amazon PSN store as long as Cheapy posts the links so the site gets the good word.
so do you download the game VIA amazon or still the PSN store???

dont see FF 7 up there : (
Technically the PSN store. What they'll do is e-mail you a code and then you to go PlayStation Network tab -> Account Management -> Redeem Codes.

Hopefully Amazon will do some sort of discount on some of these. I know they didn't really do it on a whole lot of XBLA games, but here's hoping. I just wish I didn't still have remnants of my $50 PSN card still left on my account or I'd probably prefer Amazon. C'mon discount on Trine when it comes out (fat chance I know :p)

You get a code that you need to apply to your PSN account so you can download via the PSN store. You don't download anything via Amazon.

So, does this mean that I could buy a $20 PS3 game, and then buy a $5 PSP game to get the FSSS?

If that's the case, then this is going to be awesome.

Not entirely sure.. but I'm gonna have to say no. The code games offered by Amazon don't go through the regular checkout.

You're right. Whenever I buy 360 digital content, I need to enter my credit card info, and the checkout is a bit different.
Interesting ...

I have to pay tax when I purchase on the Playstation Store via my PS3, but I do not pay tax on Amazon.com purchases ... so, in theory, this would get me out of paying tax on some PSN purchases.
AWESOME! I'm in. :D

Well that sucks that I can't use PSN games as filler for free shipping, but I am happy to know that I won't have to pay tax any more.

They aren't exactly tax-free. The companies are exempt from having to charge and collect the tax. You are suppose to pay tax, though. But no one does really does, and it's far too hard for the states to enforce.

They probably figure this will be a little bit easier to get people to shell out $20, $30, or $40 for a digital psp game, but the only thing is your still not getting anything tangible

If they start producing code cards for every PSN store title and have them for purchase now that will be a good way to have people buy gifts for PS3 fans.
