Yes they were free. You couldn't access them from a PS3 or website, they were actually pulled during the promo. You had to have a PSP, Vita, or MediaGo (free PC program) to "purchase" them.

Wild Arms has the dubious honor of being the only game I fell asleep playing, way back when I was playing it on my PS1. That and FF7 made me realize I had no taste for modern RPGs.

This has nothing to do with PS+, and it is not some "unknown secret" free game like all those XBL posts - XSEED has acknowledged the freebie on Twitter, and it is up until the release of Valhalla Knights 3, which is on or around October 15.

Besides, it's not common that stuff happens like that on PS+ from what I can tell. I downloaded Kingdom of Adumar or whatever the day it came out and I didn't get charged.
