Hi all,

A while ago, probably this year or last year, I was watching IGN via youtube on my TV. I was looking at a preview or something of this game, and my wife was intrigued by it and said that she would play it with me. I believe that at the time of the viewing the game did not get released as yet.

I think the game was for PC, might also be on consoles, I think the style was 8-bit/16-bit is graphics. I think it was 2d-ish with an isometric-ish view... but most importantly, I believe that the game was about escaping a home invasion or something like that. I believe that robbers came into your house and you had to figure out a way to escape it or something like that. I also think it was like a team game, so you might need to play it with someone...

Anyway, I know it's a lot of "I think"s, but please, I really want to play a game with my wife. Any help would be most appreciated. I've been googling this for a few months now with to no avail...

Thanks in advance.

Is there anymore details that you happen to remember? Maybe a particular scene or dialogue. Do you remember what the tone or time era the game was set in? (might be a bit hard to tell with 8/16 bit) Perhaps a particular character, or set of colors stood out? Was it more of an action game or an RPG where you took turns?

Also, was this during E3, and IGN was showcasing it as a live demo? E3 would be around June or so.

I can only think of Bastion for now, not too familiar with PC games.

Draekon knows a lot more than me about PC indies, but I'll attempt to find it first before asking him.

Man... I remember it not being colorful at all... it was dark and gloomy... it was most likely a game made mainly of pixels as well, so definitely not the style as the picture above. It wasn't a live "on the showfloor" E3 coverage... but I wouldn't put it past being an E3 game. It's definitely a smaller indie game that isn't as big as Bastion.

Thanks for your help so far. Hopefully I find it.

Two other games I happened to think of just now,

Hyper Light Drifter

and Furi

Although I don't have much hope it's those games when you mention escaping a house, maybe more horror and realistic-like.

Maybe try asking your wife if she remembers anything memorable, or something that stood out or why she wanted to play it?

I'll message Draekon, see if he has any answers.

Because of the insane amount of indie games on PC, your description isn't really ringing any bells. The only thing I could think of that it could remotely be based on a couple details would be:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/341800/

It doesn't fit most of your details obviously though.

I'll ask her again, but everything I listed is what I remember... I know that it would be hard.

The main things i remember is that the game was dark, very little color, made with pixel art in a 16 bit style, and it was about figuring out how to escape your own house from thieves/murderers... I think that's what caught her attention as she values that skill, LOL.

Omg... I think this is it... I'll check it out later when I get home from work. Thank you sooooo much man. The power of the CAG community is great.

It feels like that should be the game... It meet every single requirement I mentioned, which is crazy, but the gameplay doesn't seem to be what I remembered... It's there a similar game where you might be tied up to a chair or something and you have to figure out how to escape with your wife when robbers are in the house???

It must be this game... My wife doesn't want to play this, but she was very intrigued by the gameplay that we saw months ago 😥.

Anyway thanks a lot, I'm going to play this and see how it goes.

Best.
