Applied promotional credit is tied directly to your account. When you go through the checkout, I believe it's when you are giving your billing and shipping info, there is usually a box that will automatically apply previous credit to the order, and you have to uncheck it if you don't want to use it. I'm going to strongly lean towards you just forgetting you had credit on this one...
