Bump means that you are bumping the thread to the top. Threads normally get pushed down and eventually out of the main page of a forum as new posts come in. Bumping ensures your post stays visible.

Any new reply sends it to the top. People just post "bump" or "to the top" or whatever when they wanna send it up annd don't really have anything new to add.
