I got the collector's guide when it was $16 at amazon not sure if it's still $16, but I liked the guide I got has the pokedex and mainstory stuff on it.

You could play the game with guides from gamefaqs or some poke'mon fan site like serebii or something.

I mainly got it since I wasn't going to have the internet too much.

Right now I'm going for the eighth badge, but I'm taking a break and breeding a bunch of Axew got the male jolly axew with a everstone going to fill the box completly with Axews. The guide says if the party and pkmn box is full then you can't get zekrom/resharim during the one event in game.

Once your done with E4 or whatever you can find them. I'm not into the whole IV thing, but I plan to try for decent nature coarse not sure if that works that way for it's nature or if it's determined at E4..

It's $20 on Amazon now. The reason I wanted a guide is not because I don't have the internet, but it's much easier for me to just look at a guide then have to look at a bunch of websites for the information I need. Plus the maps are usually more detailed and easier to use. I will think about it because $20 is a bit steep for me for a guide.

I hear ya, a guide is nice to have for a Pokemon game. I just picked up the regular guide for Pokemon B&W at a Blockbuster store that is closing for $3.00, it was the last one unfortunately as I would have gladly picked up all that they had and send them to CAGs for cost+shipping.
 
The guides are good and are worth the money but I found just using online websites for B/W worked fine for me. I don't like how they are splitting the guides into 2 and making you pay for both of them, when they could easily just include a walkthrough in one book. I viewed the guides on my iPod touch which I can use anywhere where there is wifi. Saved me a bunch of money this time around.
 
So I have somewhat of a unique request. I want to transfer some of my pokemon from Heart Gold over to Black, but I will need help doing so. Only 1 DS in the house and unless I transfer them from HG to PC to Blk, i will need someone that is willing to help me out. Well that and time and I will need some bum pokemon on Blk to make it happen.
 
If it's like the Japanese release of that giveaway (in 2010), the pokemon will come with excellent IVs as well. I believe they all had 31IV in Attack and Speed. There was another 31IV in there too.. but I can't recall which. Either HP or Special Attack. With great movesets and IVs, they're great for breeding -- should you actually want to use one of them.
 
I am currently EV training my Larvesta and I just capture a shiny Stunfisk. I wish it was a pokemon that was more cool.
 
Yeah, I just register and put a pokemon to sleep. It's says processing, I probably won't be able to access dreamworld today. I am reading stuff about people complaining about waiting for the process. I hope we don't have to do that each time.
 
How does the whole Eevee evolution event work? I heard about it not too long ago, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do or how to determine which evolution I get.
 
Argh, I can't access the dream world. I keep getting the "Processing registration data" screen. Man, I signed up last night. YOU'RE TEARING ME APART NINTENDO!
 
I got Igglybuff from the dreamworld today. I will have to wait until May 5th, but it will be nice when I get my Vaporeon.

Where's a good place to go looking for the previous Generation for trade purposes? Nothing special, just the base forms and I can fiddle with the natures and the IV's from there.

The "dreaming" happens on the pokemon-gl website. You go through several minigames before picking a poke at the end to bring back with you (through Entralink).

That game was IMPOSSIBLE for me on the laptop (the touch pad thing sux).
But in the end, I won an Umbreon :3
 
I played that game too, it lagged even on my computer which is a Dell Studio XPS quad core with 8GB of ram. In the end I got a Jolteon though. It ran worse and barely on my mom's laptop which is a considerably lesser system. How much hardware does it take to run a simple flash game, geez!

I wasted like 30 minute on my touchpad too, I really had to use a mouse. And I wasted another 30 minutes and got a Jolteon. I understood what the orbs where for and I had to do a few more times for Vaporeon.

I had to use a desktop and 3 different mice to finally find a combination that let me beat the game.... it was ridiculous.
 
I don't think it matters what Pokemon, the 24 hour limit and 1 hour limit in dream world really sucks though, since it will basically take forever to get anything.

I was finally able to use it for the first time today.
 
Anyone try GTS Negotiations yet? It feels like a better way to get pokes over regular GTS, where you have to give up your Zekrom/Reshiram to get anything. The only stupid part about it are the people who want to simply show off their rares and then leave...really?

I don't mind it, as I don't have the pokemon to meet the crazy demands for some pokemon on the GTS. I've only successfully done 2, but had a few people show off there insanely high or rare pokemon and leave. I was able to get my Squirtle through negotiation, so I can't complain too much.

Now I just need to get into the Dream world. Not sure how much longer I have until I can do this.
 
I've done a lot of trade negotiations. Mostly handing out starter pokemon and riolus too random people. Still surprised there's almost no form of communication or bargaining allowed. Just smiley face for yes and frownie face for no. and the heart symbol for "gimme gimme gimme".

I like that I can throw up what I consider junk and get some pokemon that I have no chance of every getting. I just wish someone would send me a ditto, then I could start pushing out starters for other pieces.
 
I found GTS negotiations to be pretty lame. Everyone there assumes everybody else is a 200 hr hardcore player with no way communicate if that is not the case. I've had success in regular GTS getting all the version exclusives though.

People will trade if what you're asking for is reasonable (I guess you do stand out in the sea of stupid in GTS).

You can catch Ditto after you you beat the game. He is very common in front of the Large Cavern (I forget the name of the area, but it's at the top-right corner of the map).

Regular GTS is good for stuff like exchanging this generation's starters and exclusives, but negotiations is necessary to get stuff from previous games that you never see through a playthrough. Although it would be much better if there were more options--perhaps one for those who have beaten the game and one for those who haven't. It's a waste of time when I run into a person who can only offer me pokes that I caught in the first 10 hours of the game, and I'm throwing up Happiny from my White Forest.
 
Is the online stuff still almost impossible to use?

I started playing some last night (at like 1am) and had no problem getting onto the GTS and such, but today I have be unable to connect.
 
I'll have to do that TRU offer just for the hell of it, plus the fact I'm going to start/open my B&W's from the K-Mart offer.

BTW, anyone know what day is the deadline for the Victini? It'd be nice if someone or a mod updated the OP with that sort of info (such as the TRU info, bonuses for having other Pokemon DS games, etc.).

According to Serebii.net, the deadline is the 27th.

I really wish I had a local TRU, or even one within a reasonable drive. I wouldn't mind getting any of those 3, despite already having all 3.

I've had this issue in the DreamWorld twice now where it says I haven't received the last dream remnants, I've let it sit for an hour and a half and if gave me the same message, then I eventually just woke it up and missed out on a Shinx. This time it's an Igglybuff. Am I doing something wrong or what's up? Is this common?

For the record the first time I had no problem.

Edit: Nevermind. It just means that you need to pick up the items you sent over from the Dream World to the Entralink. The boy next to the entrance had my stuff, and now I added Shinx and Igglybuff.
