Pokemon Black and White: General Discussion and Info: For Real This Time
Another DW expansion? 'bout time.

I guess you're right about copy stat increases as well, but aren't competitive battlers more concerned about one hit kills or something?
What I've been hearing is give Ditto a choice scarf and then it will outspeed the other Pokemon.

Got the Keldeo and took it to the woods to learn Secret Sword. Kinda lame that they only just thought of the Resolute Form for the sequel.
And in Japan, only BW2 players can get Genesect, even though there's an event in the original for some stupid discs?

Also are you playing the JPN version right now?

Thanks for the heads up about Keldeo. Stopped by the Gamestop parking lot to get him for my copies and my nephew's copy.

I haven't started training the Keldeo yet, though he seems pretty nifty anyway. Since I'm too busy playing other games.

So for BW Version 2, Nintendo Power revealed in this month's issue that there will be "hidden grottos" found between the trees that will allow players to get hidden ability Pokemon without the use of Dream World.

Got Keldeo from Gamestop. I think I might have him on my team when I play through White 2.

Anybody know who is gonna be on their Black or White 2 team yet?

I'm thinking so far of

Keldeo
Flygon
Volcorana
Electivire

I've actually been breeding a team of Pokemon I haven't used before specifically for BW2:

Feebas lvl 1
Zorua lvl 1
Druddigon lvl 1
Archen lvl 1
Glaceon lvl 2
Mew lvl 5 (been saving this for 2 years now)

All female (with the exception of Mew, of course). I might replace Druddigon with a Trapinch, and if I can get a Riolu I might replace Glaceon with that.

Kotaku review

Not that any review would change my mind since I haven't played one since Diamond. I just have to figure out when I'll be playing it between a backlog I've been chipping at and the big games coming out in the next few weeks/months.

78 metascore right now with 17 reviews. Sadly, I think Ill pass on this one as I still didnt finish black and have a sizable ds backlog.

However, its got me back into the mood to play black recently and I forgot how much tougher the metagame was this time around (imo). Im in twist mountain right now and have to heal constantly.

Anyone else have a Gamestop that wasn't doing the Keldeo during the event time frame? I went to my local one twice and they didn't have it. I asked the employee and she said that they didn't get the Keldeo event cartridge, and won't until Sunday, the 7th. I asked her if any other gamestops around us had it, and she said none.

So I'm not sure if she was lying about doing it on Sunday, or if that gamestop decided to hold on to the event and wait until the 7th to entice more people to go there and buy it instead of taking advantage of whatever offers other big-box stores do.

Black Version to White Version 2
White Version to Black Version 2

That's apparently what someone told me how the story goes.

No, you are suppose to go with the same color. For example in black 1 you get Reshiram, then in black 2 you get Zekrom. If you go from black 1 to white 2 you get 2 Reshiram.
Since there aren't any launch deals, I'm going to wait for a B2G1 deal.
Toy R US. Also you will miss out the wifi pokemon if you wait.

Picked this up and I am loving it so far. Only complaint I have so far is I tried to do a trade with a friend of mine over WiFi and it kept timing out/not responding. Must be an issue with one of our router settings since for some reason I can never join a party with him on XBL.

Feel free to add me. My FC is: 2666 9914 4534

I have the White version.

Have there been any good deals on BW2 yet? I remember at the launch of the first two there were a few deals so close to the launch window, I was able to get the Victini. I think it was a free Amazon credit deal I jumped on.

Genesect will be gone by the time the BF deals show up, don't think they'll be doing the online distribution for it again. The game itself is well worth the price of admission IMO. I do realize we're all CAG's here, but this being an actual Pokemon title and the fact that you'll (most likely) be playing it for 50hrs + I'd say just go get it.

Yeah, I think this game is more than worth the price. Its not like a Platinum or other "enhanced" Pokemon games that come out a year later. It really feels like a new game set in the same region, even making references to what happened in Black and White. I've put in over 100 hours already and I only just left the 4th gym leader. I havent had this much fun with a Pokemon since Silver, and to a lesser extent, Soul Silver.

Plus having the previous title lets you link in some stuff post game. Its awesome sauce, they made the AI smarter, more balanced pokemon to catch near the beginning (elekid and riolu ftw!) and seeing the changes from the previous game is pretty neat. Not to mention the Pokemon World Tournament and so much more >

I picked up Black 2 for me, and, White 2 for my nephews. (Same way we have Black and White.)

I've put in a couple hours and have a couple badges. Good so far.

If I didn't have the players guide I wouldve had no clue Riolu was right at the beginning of the game. When I finally encountered it I accidentally 1 hit KO'd it. Took another 20 minutes to find another one.

I think Lucario is my most used pokemon now.

I ended up transferring my event Lucario over and rocking the game with him. Also threw over Keldeo and Zorua for a more balanced team :)

Is pokemon 2 just a rehash of pokemon black/white 1

Meaning if i play pokemon B/W 2 before playing 1 will i hate going back to play part 1

I did buy Pokemon white 2 off gamefly for 23 bucks BUT i have not even playing White/black 1 for more then 2 hours last year and would have to restart that to even remember what is going on....

but i figured you will never see part 2 at 23 anytime soon and what is even more nice i dumped an extra copy of BLACK 1 off on ebay for 22 so that was like swapping out an extra copy i had for Part 2 :)

now i have to play

heartgold
diamond/pearl
black/white 1
white 2

backlog LOL

Playing Black and White will help you understand what is going on in Black and White 2, since their stories are connected, and beating the game will let you sync your save file with BW2 to unlock memory links, which are pretty much in-game cutscenes that reveal more about the story.

But unless youre a huge pokemon fan that has no problem playing both games back to back, it probably isn't worth it to play them both. If you don't care about trading your old pokemon to the new game, or using memory links, or even about the story, then it's probably not worth it to play BW.

probally need 2 systems to move pokemon from black/white 1 to black/white 2 though right

So I want to challenge my boys to actually collect all 649 pokemon and I will give them a Pokemon related reward once complete. They have Heartgold/Soulsilver, Black/White, & Black2/White2. Is it even possible for them to collect them all with those 3 games? I understand that there will be a few "event" pokemon they can't obtain.

That's a really good question.

I'm not going to go in and reference them all, but you should be good for the most part. The only issue should be the legendaries in Pearl/Diamond. But the rest might be done with a lot of trading. Like you can only get one of bulb/squ/char in Heartgold/Soulsilver, so you would have to beat the game then defeat Red and pick one of them. Then trade to get the other from your brother and then find somebody else with the 3rd.

They should be able to get it done if they use message boards like Gamefaq. I did that with Pearl/Diamond when they released and people were more than happy to give away pokemon that they were breeding.

I am loving the six gym. I wish there was an entire dungeon based on this mechanic, but I'll take what I can get. Now at the next city (seventh badge) and am puzzled at why this guy says he was born here and will die here, despite that this town somehow appeared on the map two years later.

I take way too long to make sure that I get all the pokemon in a certain area. I finally got into a 2nd fight with Riolu at managed to capture it. The first time I faced one I stupidly hit him with Gust, forgetting about it's weakness to flying. Now I can finally move on from the Ranch and the first badge.

On a side note, does anyone want to help me move over some of my pokemon from Black to Black 2? Mainly Keldeo and some of the other starters. I could send some extra starters your way for the trouble. I really hate not having a 2nd DS in my house!
I can if you want, PM me your friend code and I'll add you.
I will do that soon. I wish it were easier to send from previous games.

Pretty nice that the Victory Road is a dungeon that you can explore but you don't need to go through the whole thing in order to get to the Pokemon League. What strange secrets are there? I'll have to wait post game. I wonder how the hell am I going to beat the Elite Four with two Steels in my party.

Finally beat the game, and I guess I over-trained since my lv 65s handily beat the entire Elite Four. Careful when going to Nacrene City, those wild Pokemon are strong.

I'm up to 4 badges, and I still have no idea what I want on my team.
Currently I have:

Grass starter
Munna
Growlithe
Whirlapede
Swablu
Ground/steel mole thing

I'm trying to use things that I never used before. I'm not really happy with Munna or Whirlapede. The big problem with Munna is that it doesn't learn any new moves once it evolves, so I have to keep it unevolved for longer than I'd like.
With Whirlapede, I always use a bug type pokemon in my games, but I feel like I've used all the best ones already. Butterfree, Heracross, lightning spider. I wouldn't mind maybe using that fire bug, I could trade over the level 1 I have on my copy of white, but then I'd have to get rid of Growlithe.
