Pokemon Black and White with $10 Credit at Amazon

For those of you that are still on the fence on buying the new Pokemon game, Amazon is offering a 5 10 dollar credit. While it's not much, I haven't seen many offers on this game yet. Excuse me if this has already been posted, but if it has I think it is important to be on the front page.

Edit: Some people have received $15 in credit, YMMV on that however, I know theres people out there willing to argue with amazon customer service for $5 so I wanted to make sure people knew.

Well so far the discussion has been:
If you like collecting, get White (forest).
If you like battling,get Black (city).
 
wtf is with the guides this time? i remember having to order two damn guides for the last one.

is vol.1 main story and vol.2 postgame? is the LE just a souped up vol.1 ?

i dont know if i like battling or collecting since i never play before. black and white are the same game right?....besides different pokemon

Same game with very little differences between them (like you said, just different pokemon). Black has an extra city to battle and shop in. White has an extra map to capture pokemon and battle in.

The main plot just changes a couple lines of text to sub out the name of exclusive legendary and the 8th city looks different and the gym leader has a different sprite.

anyone know if the pokemon games show up in the goldbox? wondering if i should wait to see if i can save the extra 5%

Yes. I got Black at $33.24.

I've seen White pop up as well.

another question- when is the earliest you'd expect amazon to deliver the games, since the release is on sunday?
i don't mind waiting until monday...but having to wait until tuesday will be impossible!
 
This deal works for me. I only needed white and will save money with free shipping and no tax from amazon. Basically, im paying $23 for white. Works for me.

Well, from experience (see HG/SS). I got HG on Monday and SS on Tuesday. Luckily my younger brother and sister wanted them too, so I actually bought my copies at Gamestop. Don't ask my why they came on separate days, Amazon just did lol.

Wish I knew how to work that stupid goldbox system. I have nothing but game systems, guides, accessories and the games themselves in my wishlist, and in my views. In my previous purchases, all I have is that isn't a game is a single book (xkcd: volume 0) and I chose the checkbox which turns off using similar items for recommendations.

I do all this, and I have a fucking kitchen sink faucet replacement, a package of coffee cream, and an old version of McAfee.

Nothing about it here. I've never had a problem with this kind of thing, but I got a screen shot of each item page just to be safe.

Wish I knew too. My goldbox was literally all music cds when 90% of my purchases were video games and maybe 5% music cds.

Only recently some video games have shown up in there.

I blame our country's Judeo-Christian values, making Sunday special and all that. Japan doesn't suffer from any of that, so it makes sense.

I think whites better. Better legendary pokemon, and has better exclusive pokemon

I'm getting Black since me and the gf are getting opposite titles at launch. She picked White after I let her choose which one she wanted. I'm happy getting Black since she can just trade me eggs of her exclusives, and more NPCs for battling/another store is never a bad thing (as opposed to yet ANOTHER forest).
As for the mascots, I'd say that Zekrom (mascot for White, despite being black) is definitely better type-wise (Lightning/Dragon), and that Fire/Dragon (Reshiram, mascot for Black) should have been done forever ago, but I just figure I can get both whenever Gray/Grey comes around.
 
Aww damn it, I always tell me myself no more pokemon. But somehow I always get sucked back in the world of these cute little critters, especially with these Amazon deals! White for me!

Black seems to be much more popular.

I was at GS the other day to pick up Bioshock and I asked about the preorder bonuses. They said they haven't heard anything about bonuses yet, but I should go ahead in case the preorder bonuses are limited to a certain amount. Quoting that they had 93 people preordering black at that location and 32 had order white.

Amazon rarely offers Sunday delivery on products, and it's always hideously expensive.

That said, I've had Lasership deliver stuff on Sunday when I ordered 2-day shipping. It looks like they won't even ship out the games until Monday, so that's not gonna happen here.

For those wondering about TRU, the bonus will be a stylus set (sunday only). There is no credit or gift card, simply buy one get one half off DS games for the whole week.

This works out perfectly. I'm currently locked in for both versions at $33.24 each (due to the games appearing in my Quick Picks/Gold Box) and I'm set to receive a $10 promotional credit for each. Hell yeah!

yeah this is true and i know that, but i've been holding onto a $85 tru gift card since christmas (returned unwanted gifts), and never used it since amazon always comes out much better. but this time if im only going to lose $5-$6 by getting at TRU, it's acceptable by me

Yeah, these are the sort you can just buy if you want, and they're available to whoever comes in to buy it on launch day. The clings are the bonus you can only get if you preordered.
 
Thanks OP. I cancelled my Best Buy order for White where I had to pay tax and drive 10 miles to pick up. Now because I have Amazon prime and a 20 buck credit from Killzone 3 I'm out the door $23 bucks cheaper (not counting time and gas $).
