Since a few people mentioned making a new thread for this (and then never actually made a thread) and that discussion is currently going on in the DS Pokemon thread and the shop channel thread, I decided to make a new thread. Discuss away and post excellent pictures!

Hayley will bring her own pokemon onto the ranch every day. These pokemon are hers and cannot be removed from the ranch and put onto Diamond/Pearl. Hayley will sometimes ask to trade for a pokemon. These become yours and can be put onto Diamond/Pearl. Most of these pokemon can be evolved right away with a single level.

Trades of Interest:
Once 250 pokemon are deposited into the ranch, the player can trade Hayley for a Phione (requires trading a Leafeon)
Once 999 pokemon are deposited in the ranch, the player can trade Hayley for a Mew (requires trading an egg)
Lickitung comes with the move Rollout so it will evolve once leveled up
Tangela comes with the move Ancientpower so it will evolve once leveled up
Yama comes with the move Ancientpower so it will evolve once leveled up
Vulpix comes holding a firestone so it can immediately be evolved
 
I don't have an SD card reader :cry: I don't know why because they are like $2 these days.

But I'm liking this.. um.. software. :lol: It's not a game, but still. I like it. Basically any hate this 'game' gets are from people who don't have Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, or don't like Pokemon in general. AKA the bs TFN was posting in the Shop thread :roll:. I mean I understand that this is not something GREAT and AMAZING..and I probably would NOT have gotten this game with points that equaled my money (compared to the zillions of free points I had)..because I do think $10 is a bit steep for it..BUT if you're like a huge pokefanatic with too many Pokemon in your game..well, then.. this is a great idea and a nice 10/15 minute time killer.

I approve of this thread.

Hayley asked me for both a Gambite and a Garchomp. I think that's cheating. I'll have to give her one, take it out, and then evolve it again.

I noticed an option called "view my ranch" and it asked for someone out of my wii friends. Can other people view your ranch? I didn't think so, but I thought I'd ask.

And, I'll post some pics as well of my ranch.

It seems people can visit other ranches. Check the instructions for more details, I was a little confused when I originally read it.

Actaully yes you can. If friends on your wii list have activated the option, you may occasionally, upon login, get invited to visit your firend's ranch. If yuor read the Operation Manual in the Shop Channel, it goes into greater detail.

Whoops, fixed. The second number was a 4 not a 3.
 
Damnit, My Pokemon Ranch made me start up Diamond. Guess I'll be downloading the Wiiware when I'm given the Pokedex. Isn't that what you need to start sending Pokemon back and forth from the Wii?

I'd assume so, but that takes half an hour at most to get. Less, depending on how quickly you run through the game's beginning.
 
Some of the interactions in the ranch are interesting.

Hayden asked me for an Onix, and I caught one (though it took at least half an hour and one accidentally killed Onix to do that). I threw it in the ranch, and one of the first things it did was jump and pound the ground. The Bidoof next to it got scared and ran away; Hayden's Quilava just got pissed off and decided to try and set Onix on fire. :lol:
 
I just got a Pachirisu from Hayley for a Kriceot. Is this a good thing? :whistle2:s

It's going to take a while to get familiar with the new Pokémon - I still haven't gotten all of the ones from Ruby and Sapphire down yet.

most of her pokemon aren't that great, but they have items/berries and occassional good moves. I trade with her just out of habit, knowing i can usually catch the one i traded again.

Edit: Forgot to mention this. Last night at one in the morning, I got invivted to a demo ranch by a guy named Bobbie, who had a ranch made exclusively of Bidoof's.

It was weird. I opened up my Ranch and then it shows him (with Pachirisu lol) and he shows a picture from his album then asked if I wanted to go..I said yeah and I was in his ranch.

That's weird - I haven't been invited to yours yet, and I don't think I did anything to trigger that. :whistle2:k

What'd you think? At the moment, my ranch is kind of pathetic, stocked with all of the early-game Diamond Pokémon. I do like my Darkrai, though. :)

I have bout 205 in mine..and I put all my legit legendaries in there. Except for Celebi and Jirachi. They are there, just from a trade online.

It's funny how big Palkia/Dialaga look in this game.

wow that was fast. If it wasn't taking me forever to lvl up my Gabite, I might have more, but your just at super speed.

When you bring in a wanted pokemon she offers a trade. once you get to 500(?) you bing in a leafeon and she offers trade. At least thats my guess based on previous mechanics.

when you bring a "wanted" pokemon to the ranch sometimes, she'll ask to trade with you.

This is now my second phione.
 
She gave me one of those pokemon that you can only get by inserting one of the GBA games into the DS as a wanted pokemon. I don't have any of the GBA games.:cry:

I got Hayden's Pikachu last night. I've got two more wanted Pokémon, but I might hold onto them for a day or two because I don't think she's got anything else to offer me in trade right now.
 
Damnit, I've been trying to hold off on buying it, but I've had at least 30 people tell me all friggin week how awesome (and useless) it is, in slideshow and movie form. I finally decided after watching one guy's ranch where his Nidoking would follow all his other pokemon, endlessly kicking, Earthquaking, and poisoning them, then running away. Nobody can figure out what the fuck is wrong with it, it just keeps bullying everyone else. XD

When Hayley talks about bringing a new pokemon to the ranch for the next day, is she supposed to bring FIVE of them? I can understand bringing one new pokemon, or 5 different pokemon, but she dumped 5 combusken in there today.

yeah its to help your numbers. After a certian point hers don't count anymore
 
This would be awesome if it worked like Tamagotchis and Harvest Moon.

I would love to feed Pikachu and clean up Jigglypuff shit.
 
I think the number of pokemon she brings depends on how many pokemon you brought to the farm the previous day. On the days that I filled it, she brought 5, but one day when I only put 20 out of 50 or so, she only brought 2.
