Pokemon Ranch discussion and picture thread

I'm trying to figure out if I visited an actual ranch last night or some built-in other ranch. Bobbie's Bidoof ranch? Bidoofs and Bibarels abounded.

You know, this game is perfect to play along with a new copy of Diamond. Haley motivates me to complete my Pokedex even more.
 
I'm pretty sure any ranch you end up visiting and it's ALL just one Pokemon (and their evolved form) are the CPUs. Wait until you see some the CPU Miis...they are SCARY!!!

But I can see you being right about a new copy of diamond/pearl. I beat mine last year, and this pain in the ass is motivating me to fill it up even more :lol:
 
Thanks for the deoxys pics ultimo! Some of the pokemon really don't look good in the low-poly models, IMO. Deoxys just looses something...

And thanks to all those who post. They're fun to look at.
 
Does anyone have a list of what the little side animations are? I only managed to get a Totem Pole twice and Campfire once, now all it ever does is Attention, Unown Typewriter, Clock, and Sky Parade. Evidently there's at least 16 of them.
 
So, Hayley is being super conservative with her trade offers - all I've gotten in the past three days have been Pikachu and Staravia. Are her trades offered randomly after fulfilling a BBS request, or do I have to wait for a specific BBS-requested Pokemon before I can expect a trade?

Alternatively: Bitch be keepin' my Pokes!
 
Randomly, I think. She will only trade certain pokemon, so maybe the only pokemon she has in the ranch that she can trade are those two.
 
Yesterday I brought her a Machop to satisfy her request, and she wanted to keep it and trade for a Pikachu. Unfortunately, this was a Machop I had been training and had no desire to get rid of, so I unhappily rejected the trade.

Wish Hayley's offerings were more random and varied, but I suppose if they weren't, everyone would simply download My Pokemon Ranch for Hayley's Pokemon.

Quick question about this... Can I send the ranch Pokemon from my DS game and have my brother take them to his DS game? Basically can he take my pokemans without me knowing :lol:

No, that's not possible. Good thing, too, or my Pokes would be gone in a heartbeat. :D

Anyway, just a tip for those struggling to get trades with Hayley: say 'No' to both questions she asks you for which Pokemon to bring on the following day (ie How about a smelly Pokemon for tomorrow?). This will cause her to bring "a Pokemon she is interested in," which so far has resulted in only trade-able Pokemon. I've gotten about 12 of the Pokemon through this method. :applause:

Dang i was trying that method, but gave up after three fails in a row, guess i should have been more patient
 
It was reported yesterday that Japan is getting an update to Pokemon Ranch so Platinum will be compatible with it. Hopefully when Platinum comes stateside, we get the same treatment.
 
I didn't mess with Ranch for long, as when I tried replaying Diamond/Pearl, I just wasn't interested. When Platinum comes, I'll likely revisit the Pokemon universe again, and Ranch is a nice compliment.

...although I'd really rather have a real Pokemon title on the Wii...
 
Heh, I was going to look into this game as a way of storing my Pokemon for HeartGold, but it seems you guys say it doesn't work with Platinum. Saves me some money I guess.

Unless they make some sort of update (which seems unlikely now), the game is still only compatible with Diamond and Pearl. I checked my Wii and saw there was an update for the game recently, downloaded it, erased my file, and tried to connect Platinum to it. I was all excited, thinking it would work, when a little message appeared on my DS which told me the link was for Diamond and Pearl only.

Sucks.
