Pondering getting a 2nd 360

nasum

CAGiversary!
Anyone have a pair of them in the house, or would that just be an Xbox 720? I'm thinking of getting the 250GB Kinect bundle to have in another room since my living room doesn't make sense for the Kinect.

I did the same thing but am probably going to sell my old system. Its a pain in the ass to recover your gamertag everytime you want to game or stream netflix in another room.

You can always put your profile on a USB stick. Just takes up about 1GB of a stick (maybe less?) and you can simply plug in the USB to the console you're headed to. Don't have to recover every time. I use an old memory unit to bring my profile to friends' houses or my brother's Xbox.

There at two xbox 360s at my house now. One is modded and is in the livingroom and the other is in the gameroom. I just use one...the one in the gameroom.

So your profile doesn't automatically update across your 360's? That's weird, but I figured I'd probably use the USB stick method anyway.
Uh, not sure what you are asking here?

360 + 360 = 720?

Yes that is correct.
Mostly if those that have a pair think it's useful or if it's just a pain.

If you call MS about it, sometimes they'll still fix it for free, even if it's out of the 3 year warranty. My brother's RROD'd and it was a near launch console, they took care of it. Only thing is they don't do the coffins anymore, just a prepaid label, so you need to find a box to ship it in.

I have two Xbox 360s in my house. I have the Modern Warefare 2 special edition and the new slim. I use a USB memory stick to move my gamertag between the two. I've been thinking I should just sell the MW2 console as I don't really use it very often.

No, if your gamertag is saved on the HDD, then each time you log on with the other console (whichever one you did not use most recently), it would force you to recover your gamertag to update it. Pain in the butt because it takes several minutes and lots of typing (email address, password, etc). MUCH better idea to save your gamertag on a USB memory stick, and just move it from room to room. Important to note that you can't be online on both machines at the same time with the same profile.

I do have two of them at my place. I bought the second one mostly as a spare when Target ran that incredible $80 after gift card deal on the old arcades right when they announced the slim. I have on occasion used both at the same time (with two different gamertags) to do some "local" online co-op or boosting on two different tvs. I don't use the second one often, but it is nice to have.

Could try to ebay/craigslist it. Be honest and clear about it being busted. A lot of guys out there that buy broken ones, fix them, and sell them.

I have 2 regular units (basement/living room) have my profile on a USB stick and 1 120 gig hard drive that I use for both systems. Works perfectly.

your gamer profile takes up less than 256 MBs, don't worry about getting a 1 GB stick. the old memory units were max 512 and was the only other way to move your profile from one xbox to another. Swapping hard drives works too like Scott does.
