Porn interrupts the super bowl in Tuscon Arizona

... And I used to live in Tucson too, and had the affected Comcast standard cable. I was kind of disappointed I missed it unill I read in the article that only MALE nudity was shown. That is some huge ol' mistake and I'm sure someone's head will roll for it.

(Summarizing - 30 seconds of some adult cable show called "Club Jenna" was shown right after the Larry Fitzgerald touchdown in the fourth quarter. It showed a woman unzipping a man's pants "followed by a graphic act between the two". It was not in the feed the local network affiliate sent to Comcast, so it somehow got in the Comcast signal on their end.)
I will never understand why people just don't enjoy it as it was a mistake and move on.
Because these people were only half-finished by the time it ended.

Sad thing is, people will be fired and companies will be sued and fined over this. Americans won't just take it as a mistake. Someone will try to profit from it.

Kids saw this. You guys need to realize that. If I had a 6 year old daughter who saw this, I would be furious. It's not an R-rated movie on HBO that got the feeds switched. This is the freakin' Super Bowl. And age doesn't really matter anyway. Some people don't view this type of thing. Just because you do doesn't mean that everyone should accept it as fine or no biggie. It was wrong to allow happen and there needs to be consequences.

this reminds me of what brad pitt was doing in fight club by putting porn images in the movie theater, if someone pulled something like that off its hilarious, if it was a mistake and signals crossed each other then oh well. Hey this happens on phones all the times.

When I was younger (like 6), my family and I were in a hotel room out of town watching Dumbo on the satellite tv the hotel provided. Out of nowhere during the first meeting of the Crows and Dumbo (just as the song begins), it flips to hardcore porno (as hardcore as 1985 or so was). The guy in the front office said that someone must have changed the main box or something.

My mom and I still remember exactly when it happened (and my dad still talked about it until he died). lol

I wonder what upsets people more, missing the end of the game or that it was only male nudity.

Comcast has set up an e-mail account to take feedback from concerned customers. The address is [email protected].
 Comcast isn't even handling their own email for this.

Are you serious? Shouldn't be allowed to happen. If it truly was a mistake, then it was not preventable. If mistakes were preventable they wouldn't exist.

And as for a 6 year old...is the Superbowl the best choice of media? Probably not. Secondly, as a parent, if you are that anal / concerned about what you children view, then it is your responsibilty to either stick to prerecorded media like Blu-Rays or get a DVR or VCR and record and preview everything before letting your children watch it.

Comcast should appologize and people need to just grow up and accept the apology.
Significantly more entertaining that Janet Jackson's gnarled 'ole titty.
ewwww... dont need to be remembering that mess

You need to grow up and realize that everyone is not as perverted as you. And what is wrong with kids and families watching football together? And not wanting your children subjected to porn is not being anal, you moron. And I fail to see how switching a network station to broadcast hardcore porn is a mistake. Someone, somewhere did something they shouldn't have. And there should be safeguards to keep it from happening.

Seriously... Families shouldn't be watching the Superbowl together and parents who object to their small children being subjected to hardcore pornography are anal... And I thought I had heard just about the stupidest comments on the internet previously to today. Good Job.

Wow - the same thing actually happened to me. The last few minutes of my porn video was interrupted by about 30 seconds of the super bowl.

I was furious.

This is the only thing coming to mind:

Well, I wouldn't want my children to be raised by you, that's for sure. You don't even understand what the words "mistake", "accident", and "uncontrolable" mean. I'm sure Comcast really wanted to cut out the Superbowl to put on porn and receive all the negatives that come with such an action. But, in guess in your house your children are perfect and make no mistakes.

All I know is that I can take things such as mistakes at face value unlike you.

To reiterate my original statement....the moral here is if you don't want your kids to be exposed to certain aspects of the world, then you need to take proper steps like removing tv viewing (which is bad for children developmentally anyway) or preview everything they will see by yourself beforehand to ensure the content and quality is safe.

I just think the superbowl isnt children orientated because of the commericials themselves...let alone a little bit of penis here and there...
Well, I wouldn't want my children to be raised by you, that's for sure.
Because I let children watch football and not porn?
But, in guess in your house your children are perfect and make no mistakes.
Wait... Children switched the channel to porn now? I don't remember anything being said about children making any mistakes. You do understand that logic is supposed to make at least some connections, right?
All I know is that I can take things such as mistakes at face value unlike you.
Like Malik said, someone bumping a button and switching feeds is silly, but slightly understandable. But hardcore pornography should be blocked, be on a different system or something. There should be safeguards against it going to any feed at all aside from PPV lines.

I also agree with Kayden.

And Skaterpunk does make a good point about commercials. But I have only heard about what goes on these days since I don't personally make a habit of watching the Superbowl.

But like the comment you made about DVR, most people have it these days and most people don't watch commercials at all anymore. Dirty commercails aren't the issue here. The issue is a touchdown being made during what is probably the highest rated segment of the show, immediately followed by a schlong being whipped out and whatever else then happened on network TV with families and children watching at home. That is unacceptable and if there aren't safeguards against it happening (which I'm sure there probably are some), there should be.

Relax.

The Christian lobbies have your back, I'm sure this interruption will be dealt with harshly, massive fines will be lobbied, and veteran station employees will lose their jobs in this tough economy.

Frankly, when I was 6 I was much more concerned with how to deal with the school bully then I was with seeing something I didn't fully understand on TV.

Fact is most parents focus on protecting their kids from inane bullshit rather then discussing serious issues with them. Thank the gods my parents taught me to stick up for myself, focused on the important things, and wouldn't have cared if a broadcast error happened to expose me to a short clip of material I found confusing. If kids are anything like they were when I was young, it's not like they haven't heard any crude blue humor on the school playground by that age anyway.

If only there was a happy medium between the rampant pussifying over-parenting and the delinquent-factory under-parenting...

Okay I am sorry but this is just ridiculous. It seems you are advocating letting this slide just because it's fun to debate.

I'm sorry but saying that this mistake should have no affect on anyone is ludicrous. I don't think it's something to get very bent out of shape over, but to not see that showing hardcore pornography during the largest sporting event of the year is wrong is beyond me. I actually do consider the superbowl a family event; I've never cared for football and always liked as a child when my family would sit down and watch it together. It's not going to ruin lives, but I think if someone sits down to watch football but gets hardcore porn there should be consequences.

This may be splitting hairs, but what was shown on the air wasn't 'hardcore porn', in that no actual sex acts occurred. No intercourse, no oral sex, just a big shimmy-shake of the actor's privates.

Still hilarious to the Fight Club fan in me, but I agree with your sentiment, Grilled.

Ooh, little kids saw some penis. Big deal. I'll be sure never to take my penis out to take a leak just in case somebody sees my penis. I'll just piss my pants instead.

Or... use the restroom? Hopefully it has doors?

Or do you regularly expose yourself in public?

If you're referring to a stand up toilet in a public restroom, see, that's when the whole "time and place" for things adage comes to mind. If you are peeing in someones soup, then yes, please just keep it in your pants.

And sorry for misunderstanding the porn shown - thought it was hardcore but didn't take the time to investigate the situation properly I guess.

There's apparently no time or place for penis.

I am not sure if you're being serious. If I'm watching pronography, there is the time and place. Having sex, time and place. Going to the bathroom, time and place.
If watching football involves a penis with you, remind me never to go to a superbowl party at your house!

Just remember when it's federal law to wear penis blinders even in the privacy of your own house that I fucking called it.

Yes it had to be, plus football and porn aren't that different, tight ends and wide receivers, the only different is the porn had women.
