Possible "Collection" Titles

My friend and I visited Gamestop today when he brought up a pretty interesting idea :D. Why don't game companies make more games like the God of War Collection for the PS3? We could have a revamped GTA Collection, or maybe even a revamped Metal Gear Solid Collection. I for one would love the opportunity to revisit some of my old favorites and play them in 1080p running at 60 frames. What are some titles that you guys would like to have remade and bundled on a disk?

I guess the underlining issue is the cost to benefit ratio. Even something as simple as the GOW Collection costs a fair bit to develop, so they have to make so much in sales to pay for it. I'm hopeful that GOW Collection was successful enough to encourage other such compilations, however. Sega's Sonic Genesis Collection is a pretty nice one.

id definetly pay to get a gta collection if they did 2 things
1. improve graphics /gameplay ( maybe use the current engine)
2. add some kind of online mp or (if possible)co-op

elwood731 nailed it. These games would cost way too much to develop and their older gameplay wouldn't necessarily translate to newer gamers.

The main reason why dev's don't remake their games in a collection form like The God of War series was made is because it would be too much money spent on it and no profit to pay them back.

I'm not saying I wouldn't love the concept though. I would so love a collection of the .Hack series from the Playstation 2 on the Xbox 360. I would LOVE that, but I know that's like trying to see pigs fly.

I think the MGS and Team ICO games make the most sense for getting a "Collection" treatment.

As long as we're making wishes I'd like an upscaled version of FFXII Zodiac Job System with trophy support. Not really a collection I know but it doesn't matter because it'll never happen.

How about Silent Hill Collection, Resident Evil Collection, Metal Gear Solid Collection, .Hack collection, Star Wars Collection (Both Battlefronts and KOTOR) St. Fighter Collection, Soul Calibur Collection, Final Fantasty Collection, Lunar Collection, Wild Arms Collection, Devil May Cry Collection.

The list goes on. The PS2 has some nice Collection/Essentials but these of course are NOT reworked/revamped but thats fine it allows me to play Resident evils, Metal gear solids, street fighters, Devil May Crys, Need for speeds that i would not be able to buy single discs for. Most collections are a fairly decent price. 20-30.

No, they were terrible. You're better off just playing the originals.

The most realistic chance we have at seeing a collection anytime soon is the Socom Collection. Fans have been clamoring for a S1 or S2 remake with fixed hit detection and upgrded graphics and servers. After that I imagine we will see a Team ICO collection before The Last Guardian is released.

That would be super sweet... hoping...

Man, impressive list! If all of them have trophies, i'm in, double/triple dip, not a problem...

I doubt there's a lot they could do with MGS1 at this point. If they could put The Twin Snakes on there I'd be on board.

This is my fondest wish. I would buy a PS3 day one just for this.

The remakes were pretty terrible (Golden Axe, Out Run, and the like) but the later compilation ones were much better. I have the Phantasy Star Collection, Space Harrier, Treasure Box, and Wonder Boy ones and like them very much. The Wonder Boy one in particular has a staggering array of ports of Wonder Boy, Monster Land, and numerous variations thereof.
