Possible Donkey Kong Jungle Beat w/Bongos $39.99 at GS!

I was just browsing through Gamestop's ad booklet (3/23-5/3) when I noticed this. On the second to last page, it says Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with Bongos with a price marked $39.99. I am almost certain this is an ad mistake and not a special sale price, becuase the $39.99 is the price for without bongos, while with bongos it should be $54.99. However, the ad is pretty clear, so you may get them to honor that if you are persuasive enough. :)

Just thought if someone was going to buy this at MSRP anyway, it might be worth a shot to get it for $15 cheaper.

checking the boards...getting errors. seeing if this posts. thanks for the deal

Odd...anyway, I predict davelin will say something to the effect of:

Confirmed, the ad booklets are located in gamestop stores. I was able to price match it to Best Buy, which was nice because I had a gift card there. Also grabbed Donkey Konga for 24 bucks used (w/o Bongos).

These games really hurt your hands.

Newegg.com has Jungle Beat w/ Bongos listed at $37.99 (plus $2.99 shipping). Is this for real, or is it a misprint? They're listing the same price for the game without bongos, which seems odd.
Sweet, I'm going to pricematch this sucker tomorrow at CC. Can't wait.
Same.

Thanks, davelin.

I ordered mine from newegg.. about $41 shipped..

sometime I'll pick up the original DK if I can find a good deal..

My GS didn't have the new ads yet ... mine was still carrying the old ad (which "expired" Tuesday) showing the DS on the cover.

Doing a PM at CC (and buying two other Nintendo games for the bonus 25% off) or at Best Buy (to use the GGC) is very tempting. So is just buying it at GS, where I have that much credit ....

I tried to get this price matched at Best Buy, but they wouldn't do it for me. They said $39.99 was under their cost, and that they don't Price Match anything below their cost. I think that was probably a bunch of bull, but I have a nasty cold and wasn't feeling up to arguing about it, so I just left. Maybe I'll try another store sometime.
are the bongos really that important?
The reviews said that it was harder than hell to play with a regular controller, so I would say yes, they are important...

Anybody have a scan of that ad? I don't have a GS anywhere near me!
is newegg reliable?
Newegg is great...they ship fast, and one time when I had a bad part, they replaced it right away with no hassle...definitely relieable!!

I think that'll depend on the CSR you get. The one at BB needed to see the date on the ad, which was on a different page. Some might also be iffy on pm'ing a scan. But if you get a cool one, I don't think it'll be a problem. If anything, they can just call the place and confirm.

I just got back from CC, and I fully intended to price-match the GS ad, but figured just for the heck of it I might as well try a print-out of newegg's website. The guy looks at it, says "Newegg, huh" and checks his computer, then says "yeah, we can do that."

So I come out with DK:JB w/bongos for a whopping $36.29. Woohoo!

Thanks a lot OP. I found the ad at GS and tried to get it there, but they said they couldn't honor the misprint, so instead I took it over to BB and got it PMed there.

Yeah, GS is aware of the mistake and won't let you have it for that price. I went in Saturday with only had the printout of the above page, as my GS doesn't have their ads yet, and while they would have honored the printout as if it were their legit ad, they had been e-mailed about that particular item. I got nervous that they didn't have the ad -- perhaps they were putting stickers over the wrong DKJB price, which I know sounds excessive, but those ads are on their shleves for months and not everyone is going to have that e-mail from corporate in their heads at all times -- so I went to Circuit City, picked up DKJB and two Classic NES GBA games and got the 25% off, which translated to $42 for the game.
