Possible Xbox 360 shipment

The crap I've been reading (e.g., M$ shortages, Sony paying people to bash the 360 on threads, etc.), I find it easier not to worry and let the frenzy happen... Certainly, I'd love to have a 360 to resell for a few extra hundred dollars, but if not, no biggie for me. Something tells me that M$ will flood the market with systems sooner or later to meet that 3 million number... I'm just wanting them to reduce the old Xbox systems to under $100... heck, they could even do that and say, well 360 is backwards compatable, so buying xbox games is not a waste of money if you can't get a 360 this xmas.
Because it can get stolen in 10 seconds as well. When I worked at CC, the only system we kept out of the floor was the SP and we locked it up behind glass.

Xbox, PS2, GC, DS... all of that was kept in the back wherehouse.
Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he was saying that there was a secret supply of systems in the back that could only be had by those who asked, not simply storing them in the back for whatever reason with indications on the floor that the item was in-stock.

It's not a secret supply or anything, and anyone who would be interested if it's in stock or not would ask.

My local news reported earlier today that major retailers are expecting small shipments of 360 units up to Christmas. This goes along with what Microsoft has been claiming.

However I still got the "nothing till January" when I called my local Best Buy a little bit ago. I plan on hitting up my local Toys R Us, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sams Club, and Wal Marts Friday after I finish my classes and sometime Saturday if I have no luck before then.

My news hasn't said anything. It's probably because of all the recent murders and child kidnappings. Ahh, Baltimore.

Reading that thread posted above... it sounds like the ones shipping in December are part of the first batch made :( they will be the last with the bundled remote for free in the premium systems.

so they are part of the first XX made! and MS just sat on them until mid December!

Well I checked around everywhere today. Walmart said they just got an email saying they won't get any til christmas. Target, CC, and BB had no idea. I'm gonna try my luck again and go out tomorrow hoping what the USA Today wrote is true and stores get them in tomorrow.

Probably just trying to copy the PS2 launch. Every store could get 40 and people would snap them up because the console now has a hard to get feel to it.

I just bought the Mature Ultimate Bundle ($799) from Amazon.com. I feel like a little part of me has died.... Anyway, as I get my lube ready for Mr.Gates visit keep checking Amazon.com for the bundles to come in stock, they seem to come at random times and then are only available for like 2 minutes. I checked and saw one was in stock around 6:10 PM EST. It was "unavailable" in 5 minutes

Oh i'm not saying i'm getting the lube ready because it was a bad deal, I'm getting the lube because i kept saying I wouldn't buy a system yet I caved

If I'm paying $400 for a system I shouldn't have to hang the psu on a string or put it on a box (that'd make my entertainment system look real good) or whatever crazy a$$ idea to keep it from overheating. It's just bad design by Microsoft. It seems almost doomed in Japan if the thing overheats easily and sounds like a jet taking off.

So I checked Walmart today at 7 - nothing. Target at 8 - nothing. Last night at BB the guy said they have nothing showing in the computer even coming anytime soon. Everyone has the same story, they've received no word and have no idea. They just say to keep checking.

I'm gonna go out today and check again also. We got like a foot of snow and its a white out but i'm gonna head out anyways. This is very werid. I think Microsoft is BSing us.

absolutely truth right there. i completely agree.

I said it once and I'll say it again...

The odds of a good sized shipment coming in before christmas is incredibly miniscule, but, I hope that if some do land in stores you guys pick em up. Good luck in the hunt and be sure to check stores that people normally wouldn't flock to for a 360 like (in my case) circuit city, sams club, costco, etc.

I agree... from Microsoft's PR point of view they can say shipments are continuously on the way to stores even if they only send 2 or 3 consoles at a time.

You think that's bad? I just bought the core bundle II for $1k, and I also swore off the 360 because of the shortage situation. I tried to reason that I could make my PC "like a 360" by using the 360 controller. It didn't work.

I just happened to be checking the usual sites this morning and saw it in stock. I almost didn't believe it. One-click, and I'm instantly $1k more in debt. Like others have said, keep checking. They pop in and out randomly and are gone within a few short minutes. Don't hesitate.

Now I have 10 games, 3 or 4 of which I have no interest in. Anybody looking to swap?

$1000 for a system. Come with crack?

I'm sorry, but I can wait. Nothing is that special to me.

Damn that's a lot of scratch.

Best buy in my town, Santa Maria said they will be getting there next shipment on the week of the 18th... You don't even have to say the whole question all you gotta say most places on the phone is (me) -> "when do you thi.." -> (best buy worker) " the week of the 18th thank you" *click*. and gamestop workers I think get paid to be assholes to people... I dunno maybe it is just me?

Being a Jerk must be a prerequisite to work at EB and Gamestop. I never shop at those places cause their service is horrible.

Went to Target this morning because they had two truck shipments last night, I was third in line, they got no 360s. Since their initial launch qty of 12, they have received 4 more. The manager checked other Target stores: nothing in NC, SC, VA, NJ, or MA. But in NY, there were 4 Targets that had at least 10 with one having 16. One was in Queens, I don't remember where the other 3 were. He said it takes 48 hours to update their system, so if you're in or around NY, it may pay to call some Targets.
do u remember if any were in LI
No, I don't think there were any in LI. The lady who was in front of me asked about NY because she has relatives in NJ. I didn't get a good look at the locations of the Targets, we were just all amazed that some had that many - and they were all premiums. We only had him search for the premium sku.

I guess you're one of those people who believes everything he reads on the internet is the truth.

There are two 360's running non stop in my house and neither one has overheated or crashed.

But hey, whatever you say. You're right. You are on the internet after all.

I was in Walmart last night and overheard some guy ask about when they might get more Xbox 360's. The old man in electronics said "oh we won't be getting any more for about 9 to 12 months." The customer said "no way" and the electronics guy said " that's what they are telling us". Walmart is so clueless it isn't funny.

You have some braindead associates thats all. ALL retailers have idiots like this.

Ive stated a 100 times WM sent out a Dept 5 COMAC that clearly stated starting today you should be able to see how many your store is getting on the next shipment in the PI system. This shipement would arrive in stores around Xmas.

My belief is the earliest you may see thie shipment is the week of Dec 12th.

Yeah you guys really need to listen to DX about Wal-Mart, we both got the Comac from the pipeline and Wal-Mart isn't getting any XBoxs till then. The only way one will reach the shelf is because it was a return, and even then a employee would grab it before a customer.

Thank you.

When the next shipment comes in one of them is mine with a 20% discount.

Im just wondering if I should run back to receiving when they arrive and lick one and scream "DIBS!".

You should do some research yourself and you'll find many instances of Xbox 360s freezing up and resetting. Check out some of the EGM editors at 1up if you don't believe people. Also check out the blogs about MS sending people boxes to return their defective units.

You must be in the camp where if your Xbox is ok everyone elses must be.

I work at a BB, and I talked to the media supervisor yesterday about when the next shipment was coming in. He told me that it will be coming in the week of the 18th.

I asked him if there will be a line for it, like the "first" launch date, and told me yes. So I'm guessing that most BB stores will get around the same number of units again that they did on Nov. 22.

Also, people have been mentioning about how they will keep the units in the back if there are any left over and that is what my BB will do. I asked why, and they replied that people will go crazy if they see X360's just sitting there. So to cut out the chaos, you will have to just randomly ask and hope for a yes.

So if you want to get one at BB, be prepared to either wait overnight for one and hope for the best, or go to as many as possible on the 18th and just ask someone in the media department.

Good luck everyone!

You're such a fucking asshole.

Best Buy should just force bundles on people again ;) mwahahaha... j/k

Well that sucks, looks like nobody is getting any 360's this week comming up either. Guess I'll keep checking online and pray nobody pulls a Kmart.

I hope the 16th is for real. I finish school on the 15th, so I could wait that night and enjoy it all break long.

A Target on LI recieved 8 in yesterday, they were sold in just under 2 hours

I posted this in the other shipment thread as well. The amount of effort that goes into trying to be informed is overwhelming, and yet there are those already doing it. I don't care when I get a 360, because it doesn't matter since I cant play it till christmas. The only downside to not paying for a 360 yourself

At first I thought all you CAGers were bashing the OP for his first post, which posted an unfamiliar link but you really are talking about possible 360 shipments

When I was in GameRush today, I heard the guy talking about the Xbox 360. He said they might get some in on Wednesday, but they should have more in by the 16th for sure. FYI, this was a GameRush in the Atlanta area.

the weirdest thing is last week at game crazy here in the san diego area we got ONE premium. our "replenishment" was one fucking premium xbox 360. im still laughing about it. needless to say the people that were called to pick up their pre order were their in minutes.
