I'm always interested to see different areas of the country and world but the problem is you get a filtered view from websites, magazines, and tv. You dont get to see (IMO) the interesting places. So this thread is dedicated to posting images of either your house or the area around where you live.

There is one rule that I must ask you abide by however .. please use imageshack (or something similar) and post the thumbnail version so a lot of space isnt taken up.

Example w/ instructions:

Here's an aerial shot of my town from it's website.

a block or two from my apartment in Madison, wi:
madison-statest1.jpg

^^^that's part of the main street (State st.) leading up to the square. it's only 24 feet wide, about a mile long and cars can't drive down it, but buses do. it's pretty much my favorite street in the world. has everything and it's always hopping with people.

the area my apartment is in really isn't worth seeing pics of. it looks like any other street and any other apartment building.

Overview shot of my whole town along with San Jose, sunnyvale, Fremont, and maybe a little of san francisco in the WAYYY back. I love the bay area =) at 4am.

Looks like a nice midwest city. As a friend of mine says it might look alright from the outside. But you can't tell if a toilet is full of shit unless you open the lid.

300,000 people in Dayton I think.

Only good part of Dayton is the Baseball field. Dayton isn't horrible, but I've spent 21 years in the bad part of town, and that just ruins the rest of the city for you. You always look at it with negativity. You go to the nice part of town their assholes cause they don't have to worry about getting shot, and they have big homes. You got to my part of town everyone is asshole's cause everyone is trying to get over on everyone else.

Look at it like this your stuck in a giant hole with 1,000 people. Some choose to kill. Some choose to huddle in the corner with their families. Some only worry about themselves and try to fight, kill, mame, and rape their way to the top...Welcome to Dayton.

Lincoln – Douglas Boulder Marker

Visit the spot where Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln gave their campaign speeches in 1858. In 1911, a granite boulder was placed in Page’s Grove to commemorate this event. Today the site is known as Lincoln-Douglas Park and is located one quarter mile south of Route 116 on Hanover and Frances streets.

Oh yeah I bet everyone is jealous now!!

I'd love to show everyone a picture of Tampa, but all I can find are google are "fake" pictures... ones that are doctored or taking to make the city look like this amazing place.

In reality it's dirty, crowded, and it smells weird outside.

EDIT: Here's a good picture to describe Tampa:

Here's another picture:

tampa-yborcity.jpg

That's Ybor City, the club district in Tampa... I can tell you it has NEVER looked like this, EVER. There is usually trash everywhere, drunk people, people puking, about 25 cops, women that are almost naked handing out flyers, smoke everywhere... the picture looks like a nice nightspot but it is nothing like that at all.

Here's a picture of the city government building from the city's website with some hilariously obvious photoshopping.

Thats the Dayton I know. Dirty and full of porn :D
btw if anyone wants to know a fun fact if you will. Those porn shops came under fire a few years back because they were displaying sex toys in the windows. Also they weren't checking I.D.'s got to love Dayton.

Run down old porno shop next to a run down old church supply store: One stop shopping for the local priests. :D

Here's a few pictures I found of my city. The best thing to do when you get here, you ask? Pack your bags up and get the fuck out!

I live a few minutes away from downtown, in the ghetto.

The water (the bayfront's probably the nicest thing about this place)

Me too. But you'd be surprised at out-of-towners who, when they ask where I live, will say something like the following:

"Oh, you live there by the water? Wow! You have the beaches there; that's so awesome."

Yeah, the beaches suck here anyway, but that doesn't stop tons of stupid, pasty, sunburned punks from flocking down here for Spring Break.

It was pretty funny one time. I was stopping at a gas station that also has a Burger King next to it, and there were a few stupid college pricks going into the BK. One of them was crying and was EXTREMELY red.

"I don't wanna eat! It hurts!"

If you can't even spend a few bucks on some sunblock, you deserve to look like a big, ugly radish.
I don't have any pictures of Olathe specifically, but this site is pretty good for the general area.

I also saw this:

In 2006 CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Olathe 13th on its list of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States.

So that's cool.
It's gotta be better than here.

Although, I do think I remember hearing that we're the 69th largest city in the U.S. I don't think that's correct, but whatever. I don't care.

winnemucca.jpg

not the best pic as it only shows half the town, the other half lies on the other side of the hill. It really shows the area though, and that Nevada isn't just a giant desert.
I'm not 100% sure, but Fort Collins may be where my uncle lives. He's always wanting us to drive up there and visit him. It kinda sucks, because there's no family nearby at all for him there.
Oh yeah? Well, it's an awesome place, y'all wouldn't be dissapointed. :)
Sounds like you should host the party. ;)
... They didn't say anything about an awesome nightlife or high quality booze though. ;)

Besides. I don't have any friends with 68" televisions.

Yeah, and we also have the Liberty Memorial, which I think is the only WWI museum/memorial thing in the country. At least that's what they said the last time I was there. But that was back in middle school.

There a section of downtown called the oregon district its one street block long but more narrow then most. Its all bars, and porn shops. With a couple of exceptions.
Damn, looks like you'd have to walk a mile to get from side to side
Well, the right side (going by that pic) was mostly the gyms and weight rooms. And then there's the cafeteria just right of center, with the tech/shop class rooms behind it. It wasn't too bad getting around, with most classes in one end of the building and only two floors to deal with.
