Cyberlian that is an incredible find.

The best deal in terms of quality and price was easily the TRU Coupon deal.

Beyond Good and Evil, Devil May Cry, Arc the Lad, Virtua Fighter 4, Xenosaga all for 50 cents to $5. Awesome. The problem is that I already had them.

I'd have to pick the CC $5 sale. I missed the best ones but still got Medal of Honor, Mario Party 4, PN03, Metal Gear Solid 2, Tony Hawk 3, Shadow Hearts, Sims, and many others for keep, gift, or trade.

Overall a big thank you to CAG and all the OP's in the house.

The Cooler $1 (DVD)

Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash website- $10 signed Bluntman and Chronic action figures and $8 signed UK Dogma poster

Deal of the year for me was a sweet K-Mart YMMV. When I took two reasonably cheap clearance games to the register, I was stunned to find FOUR Zelda collectors discs sitting there, marked at $0.49 each. Those babies would end up financing my purchase of an XBOX a couple of months later.

A close second for me would be GameStop's GBA bundle typo. I took the ad to CC and picked up 2 GBA + e-reader bundles for $40 apiece. This deal is a bit less impressive in light of recent price drops, but it was a steal at the time.

CC sale was kind of a bust for me. My little bro and sis already had Final Fantasy IX, so I was able to get my own copy for $5, which is a pretty sweet deal. All I got out of the Best Buy thing was two cancelled backorders. But congrulations to all who scored on those deals!

There have been countless other sweet deals, but the above examples stick out in my mind the most. My first year as a CAG has been a blast!

GameRush has been my best deals....I have over $300 in credit right now and I have got many other games CHEAP through them. Only more deals to come from there!!!!

Besides that....maybe a few $5 CC deals.

While the $5 CC deal was great, being in a country completely removed from Circuit City kept me from jumping on the sale at it's start, and thus I missed out on most of the A-list titles.

Still managed to grab a few, and combined with Gamerush (the nearest stores being 300 miles away from me!) made for some faboo deals.

But the best, by far, for me has been the late TRU green tag 70% off + $10 off 2 sale. 60 games for $4.93? Can't go wrong there. Combine that with Blockbuster Canada now doing trades and I've got an Xbox, 7 games from the sale and Halo 2, Tron 2.0 and MGS3 for that $4.93.

Best deal ever!

This is insane. Sadly I could not take advantage of this deal. A kid really limits your ability to just run out to TRU or wherever at a moments notice. Can't complain though.

Mine would have to be the $5 Circuit City sale. The TRU 50% off sale was pretty good too.

Oh I have a kid. But I have a wife as well. Did your kid not come with all the options? :D

Actually, my wife is very supportive of my cheapassedness. She's happy that I get my little hobby with little or no financial outlay. So she grants me time off every now and then to pursue the truly great deals.

Wish some of them were local, but even though we have TRU and Best Buy and Gamerush, it just seems that all the best deals are south of the border.

The .01 ps1/ps2 games at FYE.
I completely forgot about that. Trades/Ebay/Gamerush...god that sale freakin rocked...

$5 CC summer sale. Plus, some didn't consider it a deal, but the $5 GH games at CC that were made that way by a glitch in the system. That was good too.

I cleared out a TRU on the 31st a few hours before close. It seems like no one had hit the store yet, and seeing how it was the coupons last day I ransacked all of these for a total of $29.57. Anyway, a wonderful New Years it was.

..I just traded in 11 of those PS2 & Xbox cheapies for a brand new SP at a local record store... the TRU coupon owned all

I've had countless garage/flea market finds as well...back in May/June I was tearing up these boards with the look I picked up.

I would have to say my deals of the yr would be getting Paper Mario, Def Jam fight for NY, and FIFA 2005 all for $16.88 each right after release. The Seinfeld DVD box set for $17.77 after raincheck, and the $5 Ace Combat.

Another deal of 2004 that I forgot to mention; I got the Pelican Eclipse wireless controller (silver) for Xbox for only $15.18 @ GameStop

And yet ANOTHER deal I got was in January of 2004, when I got Sonic Heroes (PS2) on release date brand new for $5.24 @ Electronics Boutique

Sonic Heroes is still MY game of the year 2004. :p

The best for me was also the $5 CC sale in the summer. I only got three Gamecube games (I wish I had looked more, including for other platforms), but getting PSO I & II before the Plus version was announced was pretty nice.

The CC summer $5 sale . . . I got over to the store within hours of the story breaking and picked up a bunch of great games. I traded for other good ones and sold a few on ebay (Disgaea, MvC xbox . . .) I figure I ended covering the cost of 20 that I kept!

The Mario bobbleheads (16 of them) that I bought at Goodwill ($2 each) ended up earning over $200 when Japanese bidders got involved.

The 50 cent copy of Skies of Arcadia guide that I found at Goodwill ended selling for over $50 on ebay.

Also the Zelda 67% raincheck at Target (that fell from heaven or rose from hell) which got me 5 games for $16.88 (Metroid 2, Jak 3, Ratchet 3, Paper Mario, GTASA)

Let's see, these are all the ones in 2004 that CAG had me involved with (and I only joined CAG in the first week of July):

1) $5 July CC sale, which netted me 36 games, including Pikmin (non-PC) and DOA:XBV.
2) August introduction to the TRU Green Tag sale, which netted me 12 games, including Fatal Frame (XB) and Otogi (XB)
3) Target rainchecks, which had me pick up quite a few games, including SC:pT, NG, and a few other A-list XB titles at 48% off, and plenty more where that came from.
4) TRU B2G1, which started my PS2 game massive expansion.
5) TRU $10 off 2 games $19.99 or less, with or without using in conjunction of Green Tag games, filled in a few nice holes in my gaming collection, even managed a few free games for myself.
6) $5 December CC "sale", which had me filling in a few more holes in my game collection, plus picking up games for CAGs left and right. Finally had me buying games for trade use only, as well.
7) $5 Ace Combat 5 Sears mistake, which netted me a $0.49 copy from CC on PM. Truly the guiltiest pleasure CAG experience. Tekken Tag Tournament for $3-something, and AC4 from Sears @ $5, from the same situation.
8) $20 Ghost Recon 2 for XBox @ Kmart, which had me driving the wilds of St. Louis to pick up seven copies, all for other CAGs.

There's probably more that aren't coming up, though that's sure as heck plenty of them. Best one?

I'd have to say that the $0.49 AC5 is the guiltiest pleasure deal I've had, without question. Only one copy for myself, no trading of that one, and there was quite the temptation to do it.

For a real "value" in what the sale netted me, I'd have to lean towards the July $5 CC sale or the first part of the TRU Green tag sale. Close seconds would be the Target rainchecks, the TRU combo of $10 coupon/green tag, and the TRU B2G1 sale.

buying frogger beyond (xbox) for $5 at CC sale.

Then selling it for $32.00 on ebay.

I bought a bunch of games to trade or keep and I had really no intention of selling anything unless I could make a good profit.

So I checked out the games I bought from the sale and to my surprise Frogger was the only one worth selling so I put it on auction and it sold for 5 times what I paid now that worked out :D

I missed the CC deal because I was in Europe.

I would say the best overall for me were the gamerush deals. I picked up so many brand new games for very little out of pocket expense, games that would take a long time to drop in price, like Nintendo exclusives, Halo 2, RE 4 tomorrow... Also picked up and xbox with my left over credit (and I never used the trade 2/3 get a used game for $$ then trade it back in for more money loophole)

I picked up many other games cheap through EB or other random clearances including the TRU green tag.

Here are probably the best ones that I got in on:

$0.01 PS1 games at FYE (this one was great just based on cashier reaction! :D)

$5 Circuit City game clearance

2 for $10 Circuit City screwup

TRU Green Tag Clearance + Buy 2 Get $10 Off Coupon

PSOne LCD Screens at TRU for $11.98

PSOne console system for about a $7 investment trading in games bought at TRU with the coupon :D

Trading games in at Hastings with the Trade 4 Get 1 Free deal.

My most memorable deal of 2004 (not necessarily best) was going into bookmans and having a salesguy mark down a bunch of NES games for me because I'm a Saturn collector, I got like 10 games and two saturn light guns for 18 bucks, all of the NES games were mega sweet except for a metroid that was broken which I ended up having to return for Zelda II... Now if only I could find River city ransom!
Two copies of Ogre Battle 64 for $4 each. One complete, the other was cartridge only.
Ogre Battle 64 is by far my favorite game for N64.

...Well, its not a game deal, but, I picked up 5 24 foot tube lights(solid white) for $1 each. They were on clearance at Shoprite from $20.00. The limit was 3, but I asked the cashier if I could buy all 5, and she said yes. Just as I was paying, some lady came saying somebody named John(store manager I think) wanted them. She saw I was buying them, and she just said oh well.... So I saved $95.00 :D
