Been told it's a generic serial # and same installer, but this is what it is and it's legitimate. Haven't looked into it myself but I'm sure that's the case.

It looks like their giving it away along with the opportunity to upgrade to version 12 for a discounted price. It's not a bad marketing idea for them. It wouldn't take a high percentage of upgraders to make it worth it. And free software for the rest of us, so yay. I've used it before. It's not Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier, but not bad for what it is. Good find.
