Wouldnt you need the D2D version of BC2 to play this? I was considering this until I realized that. Would be sick if you could use it with other versions or use EA DM or something...otherwise Id have to wait for a sale on BC2 to be able to play it.

Totally lame that this isn't a standalone title...I would love to bite but I sold by BC2 for PS3 months ago...not willing to buy it back AND the expansion

Only early access (December 18th, Steam link) is exclusive to EA/Steam. The other places will have it on the 21st.

BFBC2 is suching a mother ing good game if you all haven't tried playing the multiplayer then you really are missing out! For those who are playing this and have been waiting for this expansion for months then there's just one word to say.....FLAMETHROWER (and we're not talkin sum pussy one like in Black Ops)!!

1) Even though the Steam page says you have to have the Steam version of BC2, EA's info seems to suggest it doesn't matter where you buy it from, since it's just an unlock. I got mine retail, so I feel mostly safe going for this.
2) Yes, you DO have to have BC2. It's not stand alone.

I am hoping steam has some kind of deal for BFBC2 and the Vietnam expansion. My copy is a EA Store copy from when they had that PAX coupon last year which made it $21.

I want to rebuy it for steam so I am hoping they do a sale for both of them for $20 or something.
