I was browsing through Walmart.com and noticed they have the upcoming DBZ 5 Movie Pack for just $15.96. That's a great value for what's included.

This is a Pre-order that ships 11/01

The 5-disc set includes:

Dead Zone
The World's Strongest
Tree of Might
Lord Slug
Cooler's Revenge

That's just $3.20 a movie! (before any shipping and taxes)

To compare, Amazon has it for $16.99

Good deal if you don't have them, but I don't really like any of the movies, they all feel like hal assed side stories that weren't good enough to make the full series.
I'd wait for the Dragon Box movies the only versions of Dragon Ball Z worth paying money for.
It would seem that we're getting this (which seems to be a repackaging of the double features they put out a few years ago) in place of the Dragon Box footage... Even though FUNimation announced that they had those masters... And have teased a release following next month's Dragon Box Seven release for at least the past year.

FUNimation had started breaking out the double features into single disc releases, but quietly canceled them after putting out the Bardock and Trunks TV specials (even though we had solicitations and box art up through movie two or four. I can't remember). Everyone assumed that they stopped those releases, and allowed the double features to go out of print (which is why a few of those sets fetch outrages amounts of money) because they were trying to clear the market for a Dragon Box release. Apparently we were wrong. Hahahaha. Not to say that we'll never get a Dragon Box release, because they love to rerelease Dragon Ball, but it may be a while at this point.

Anyways, assuming these sets are just a re-release of the footage FUNimation used for their last release, then they'll be a decent Dragon Box alternative, especially if you're just a casual fan, and not a crazy person and sit on Daizex looking at screenshot comparisons like I do.

The footage in those double feature sets looks fine (much better than the season sets that were released concurrently). The only major flaws are the lack of original title cards, and the original audio can be a little lackluster sometimes (I think movie 13 in particular had some issues, especially since 13 should be the best sounding of all of them)... But that's really only an issue if your a fan of the original Japanese version.

This is a pretty awesome price for the content, though, especially since the double feature with movie 5 is one of the ones that is really hard to find.

1-star rating lol? I know some might not be pleased with the set for whatever reason but there's no need to hate on the value here, it's a solid deal
